There will have been a fair amount of churn since the Maresco squad. The only few decent players they have will be sold this summer too.
There will be others off too. Vestergaard and Faes both being linked with moves away. Their keeper and LB are probably their only players worth much so you'd think they'll be off. I think they will really struggle.
RM will get their squad to perform at the full reflection of their quality, if he has the right players he will get them to dominate. But as we know he is extremely inflexible and if they don’t deliver him the perfect squad for his way of playing it may well end in tears. Personally I am happier at the prospect of us with Will Still by comparison.
I think this shows what a mess they’re in. Unsure what sanctions they’re going to have against them. Not getting rid of RVN already probably shows the mess they’re in with PSR. They’ll probably either stick with RVN or end up with Rohl as will be the last club standing for him.
Feels like Rohl might've played himself a bit if it ends up being that he kept Saints waiting, we moved on, he then misses out on Bundesliga jobs and ends up at another Championship club anyway, but this one has financial issues and is going to get slapped with a 12pt+ points deduction for good measure
Can’t see it being Rosenior. Just signed a new contract so wouldn’t be cheap to get out of that, though Rohl would be the same especially dealing with the Sheffield Wednesday’s owner. That’s why I think RVN could stay on due to financial reasons. Wouldn’t be surprised if the EFL are already looking at their finances and spending moving forwards?
Wasn’t the Sheffield Wednesday owner playing hardball? Wouldn’t that be an issue with Leicester trying to pay for Rohl if they have PSR issues? Martin is free but apparently least likely Wonder if they floated his name and got a negative reaction
Rangers job is still available and they just announced a takeover by the 49ers Group earlier… maybe Russ is going to Scotland instead?
Would arguably suit him better than Leicester because he can make a dominant side sing. Just that pesky Celtic to deal with and I could see him struggling in Europe.
With the mad owner of Sheff Weds failing to pay staff on time (again) it may be Rohl could soon claim breach of contract and just walk. I feel for the Weds fans tbf.
Russell just edging the favourite's position at the moment. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/articles/cx2jp5xp0njo Martin is the surprise. He interviewed brilliantly and, says a source, "gave the board an awful lot to think about". Not as much as the surprise Ranger's fans are going to get. If he got annoyed with Saints fans for questioning his tactics, he's got a shock coming in Glasgow.
If appointed (as seems certain) will Saints save a few pounds as I assume we're still paying him off at present?
