I genuinely think Howe seen right through him to be honest. Howe is untouchable and rightly so.

I’m still not convinced any football manager wants a DoF breathing down his neck anyways.

Someone said it earlier, but I think that's why we are chasing hard on Mbuemo. Plays RW can cover the CF, along with Gordon, Osula and probably Joelinton in emergencies.

Well this is the thing isn't it? There should be no reason for a DoF to be breathing down the manager's neck. The DoF should be there to collaborate on the strategy of the club's recruitment and operations. They should not be micromanaging the manager or trying to impose wills.

I partially agree but then why are we looking at Delap? Similar age. Difference being he got opportunities. Osula deserved more time, Times when we played Wilson instead. Times when we needed a goal but bright on Krafth. Times when we were comfortably winning and gave him 2 minutes instead of 10.

I wouldn't say we're chasing hard. More of an Obi run towards him.

Reports that Leeds are interested in signing Wilson, Longstaff and Targett. Let us hope for truth in this one.

Delap for £30m is a bargain in todays game, i mean Man U paid £64 for Hojlund and he's not shown anything to justify that so far.

Surely this Summer we can do better than DCL and the like? Shame about Delap - Chelsea just piss on chips constantly, which is why I was desperate for them to finish outside the CL places, I just loathe them.

I maintain we need 6 players.

GK - Trafford, J. Garcia, Svilar, Verbruggen
CB - Guehi, Konsa, E. Garcia, Van Hecke, Zabarnyi
RW - Mbuemo, Elanga, Semenyo, Dibling
CM - Baleba, Ramsay, M. Fernandes
    CF - Ferguson, Takaoka, Kilicsoy
FullBack - A. Silva, Vuskevic, Hato, Mosquera

Definitely wouldn’t like to see Mbuemo go to you guys. I think if we didn’t have Salah he’d be number 1 target for us . Guys been quality last few years.

Hopefully he goes abroad and does well - otherwise only other option is going to Manchester and playing wing back which would be funny but a real waste!

It is, but it looks like Chelsea have got him already, and as I said I'd prefer Mbeumo anyway, A frontline of Mbeumo, Isak and Gordon is very decent. He fits in better than Delap as well.

But that's 23 players. Never gonna happen. Just my view.

Delap also has to ask himself if he thinks he's actually better than Shevchenko, Morata, Kezman, Havertz, Fernando Torres, Batshuhi, Aubameyang, Higuain, Mutu, Lukaku etc... who've all had a nightmare upfront for Chelsea. In reality only Diego Costa has come close to being a proper striker since Drogba retired.

Yeah exactly. But he has fallen for the "Look at me, I've been signed by Chelsea" trick.

Give it 5 years and we'll go "Whatever happened to that Delap lad from Ipswich, who looked quite promising? Anyone know where he is now?"

I'd have no issue Signing DCL... He's free, has Premier league experience, a decent enough player and offers something we don't currently have, particularly hold up and in the air abilities, as well as providing much needed depth.

Newcastle would find it very difficult to get a player that ticks so many boxes for free (it would cost many millions) and one thats willing to be back up to Isak.

DCL in our team will score goals.

You'll see and BTW I refer you to the Joelinton to midfield thread.
