I’d be sat here trying to justify signing someone like Ben Pearson and yet here we are arguing about England international Jordan Henderson Sunderland Association Football Club
Would never trade places with Peterborough but it is really a commendable strategy for league one, these non-league lads ending up going for millions after a year or two.
They’re ran well to be a sustainable league one club usually in and around the play offs yes they’re not likely to rise through the leagues but financially solid and it gives the non league players a chance
Cheers appreciate it. it was a little bit of me trying to get info on our lads coming through there’s a lot of excitement over here about them but then again that’s not a high bar anymore after the last decade
I was honestly really excited for the 5/6 lads who went to Brighton but feel none of them have kicked on. Moran for example came with such a great deal of hype but has stagnated by playing for the likes of stoke and Blackburn.
there was a time Brighton were like a second team for me with all the Irish coming through thought they were single handily driving the Irish resurgence but they’ve stagnated. Especially Ferguson it looked like we finally had our first top quality player in a decade then he got injured played through it got sent on a terrible loan and now he’s confidence is shot and he looks a shell of the player he was when he came onto the scene
Yeah 2 years ago Ferguson would have been the dream signing after going up, don't think i would go near him now. Shame really.
I wonder how much our wage ceiling will increase by. Enzo was probably on €50 or €60,000 a week at Roma so that would equate to £42,000 here if we look on the lower side. Edit - it's going to be a tricky balance in bringing in super-talented young players from abroad for decent money but offering wages that will sit right with the players already here
Got to get him tied down, I back this lad to be our 9 in the PL me, with a new phsyical striker added for rotation and support like haha
Going to sound stupid here, right but I've noticed Mayenda really coming into his own by the end of this season. At the start, you'd see him wearing undershirts and looking timid, not being very vocal on the pitch. Now, he rocks the short sleeves, a bit of wrist tape, and walks with a bit of coolness about him; you can see the confidence radiating off him now. Probably means **** all but I've noticed it
