Haha . Nico Rosberg saying the new front wing rules will affect McLaren more than any other team . Then Sky reporter points out McLaren didn’t make any Changes . out of all the teams 7 made front wing changes . Marc did not . Alpine did not . McLaren made No changes to their car at all Take that Horner and the rest
McLaren have been so confident all season it was never going to affect them and so it seems. I suspect in the next couple of months Ferrari will emerge as the lead threat to McLaren, but much too late in the season to mount a serious title threat. Mercedes we will know this weekend whether or not they have made a step with their floor but ultimately I’m reading James Allison is now moved onto the 2026 car, so they could have a difficult second half if Ferrari and Red Bull develop well.
This front wing thing is a bit more subtle than is being described. For example McLaren introduced their new front wing to comply with these rules at Imola (I believe Norris ran it briefly in practice only), so it doesn’t show as a change here, but they can’t run the design they’ve been racing all season any more. I do agree this isn’t going to make a massive difference though, aside from anything else McLaren haven’t seemed like they’ve been thinking “every point counts, we must build a buffer” so far this year.
Anyone think one of the weirdest things about modern F1 is having a media girl stand in the media pen next to the driver with an iPhone recording the interview and doing absolutely nothing else? I mean- just watch the TV coverage back and media coach the driver afterwards? Ah…of course you wouldn’t get on screen then would you? We get more of them on TV than the wonderful female engineers and that’s a crying shame.
From Autosport Aston Martin F1 driver Lance Stroll will not take part in Sunday's Spanish Grand Prix due to pain in his hand and wrist. On Saturday Stroll had qualified in 14th, but the Canadian will not take up his grid position tomorrow after experiencing recurring pain in his right hand and wrist. The team said the discomfort was related to when he broke his hand in a cycling accident on the eve of the 2023 season, and Stroll will now undergo surgery to find a solution. "Over the course of the past six weeks Lance has been experiencing pain in his hand and wrist, which his medical consultant believes is in relation to the procedure he underwent in 2023," Aston Martin said." "As a result his medical team have confirmed that he will not race tomorrow and he will undergo a procedure to rectify these issues before focusing on his recovery." A week before Bahrain's 2023 pre-season test, Stroll sustained injuries during a training ride in Malaga, including fractures in both wrists as well as a broken toe. Having had screws inserted into his right wrist, Stroll sat out testing but made a swift recovery way ahead of schedule. The following week he took part in the season opening Bahrain Grand Prix, battling through the pain all weekend to score an impressive sixth place as Aston made a flying start to the season. Stroll will now miss a grand prix after all, two years after the initial injury. At the time of writing it is not yet known if Stroll will recover from the procedure in time for F1's next race at the Canadian Grand Prix, but Stroll will understandably be keen to ensure he is fighting fit for his home race in Montreal in two weeks' time. First practice for the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve event is scheduled on Friday 13 June. Stroll pulling out after qualifying means Aston Martin will only enter Fernando Alonso’s car in the Spanish Grand Prix, with 19 cars on the starting grid..
omg they made the call! Should've made it a lap or 2 ago, but at least it isn't so late as to be pointless.
Every race it seems Leclerc finds himself the faster driver over Hamilton. Hamilton going nowhere atm.
