When I spoke to Brendon Smurthwaite at last home game he said that it was being introduced as is because of the way our disabled bays are laid out. If they have safe standing below them then people in the disabled bays are unable to see. I know from speaking to a bloke in the bays around e4 people standing is an issue for his visibility.
It should’ve been done like Derby do it. Half the north stand that doesn’t have the bay has it all the way down.
Man Utd had the right idea building a full disabled section. It gives those who need it safe access and no chance of their enjoyment being spoilt by people standing. If you are going to do safe standing then at least do it properly. The people with disabilities have every right to complain if people are stood in front of them so why not seperate the two and ensure all fans are happy?
Our stadium was built with certain aspects in mind. Speaking as someone married to a disabled person the facilities at the MKM are ok and this is probably a sign of how they’re prohibitive. Swansea is also a good example of another similar to Man Utd in allowing for the best of both worlds
