This. He’s a ****ing rat. The club are taking a big unnecessary risk if they bring him back. Why rock the boat with the togetherness that’s at the club, now. It’s already splitting the fans and some of us will always be very vocal about him. Madness.
I'll probably get shot down, but I still don't think Jordan will be here next season....just doesn't feel like a KLD/RLB type of signing to me.
A lot of people who don't want this are going to melt when they hear his scarf interview about how he never wanted to leave and loves the area and club and it was always his dream to bring him family back home to Sunderland.
PL money is a game changer though. Would be daft to turn down such an experienced player and one who can (IMHO) still cut it at PL level. If he's good enough for England, then he's good enough for us....
Yes,I can get the argument. I suppose it'll come down to the deal. Do we think,by engaging him on a short term, but lucrative, contract we're going to get value for money? Maybe just for one season? I'm not convinced that KLD/KS/RLB will think they can't find another very experienced player, some 6 or 7 years or so younger, that won't be able to provide the same input to the team. I'd caveat that by saying of course Jordan has us as his roots,so I'd expect his committment to be in the right place, but I just don't think it fits.
2 year deal on around £50-80k pw, a massive pay cut from what he currently earns, he will become one of our biggest earners as things stand but those sorts of wages are low ebb in the Premiership these days. He'll be vital the first season and pass the baton onto our younger lads in the second.
Who is the player most like Hendo in the team at the moment ? I don’t think we actually have one. Maybe Triantis by the brief looks I’ve seen of him
Well,we don't have anyone in terms of experience and leadership who even comes close....not much doubt about that. We have Dan Neil and Nectar, who's coming back from a very successful stay at Hibs, and they bring legs.
I 100% agree with you mate, I couldn’t care less about his personal life (unless he was a nonce like) the club is moving forward rapidly and we need someone of his ilk to help nurture the likes of Dan Neil, Chris Rigg, Jobe (if he stays) that kind of experience is invaluable and he can still do a job for us if needed to come on to sure things up, as well as help coach our youth coming through the ranks. his professionalism and training ethics are what made him so successful at both Liverpool and England, I for one would love to see him back at the club, if he can help steer the ship through muddy waters and storms in the premiership next season and help us stay in the league then he gets my full backing and if the club think it’s a good move then they will always get my backing, I watch the football and support the club and to see where we have come from after back to back relegations, let’s get behind the club and team and support their decisions. I will never forget losing that away leg at Lincoln City, let’s move forward.
We don't have anyone like him, he's basically an engine room with a good range of passing, maybe Dan Neil is technically the closest but he really doesn't get that close.
Agree totally with this. I have not seen anything of him for a few months. But he looked far from “that” player the few times I’ve seen him at Ajax. Looked leggy and slow. Could still pass, but nowhere near the engine he used to have
Perhaps it all depends on whether Jobe stays or goes, I'm undecided. I don't think Henderson has the legs but Cory Evans looked good in the role he played. We'll need someone who can do the donkey work for Enzo and fire out long diagonals for the wings or drop it behind the defence for Isidor. Neil could take Jobe's place I expect.
