I've seen rumours that Lange is sniffing around Bardghji Rooney who is a good friend of Lucas Bergvall and recovering from an ACL , are we bringing in players with knee injuries before the coaches can get their hands on them now ?
We were in for Bardghji before his knee flew into the stands Given he's out of contract in December, that puts us in a weird spot where we could sign him now or wait for January - or to put it another way, we could sign him this summer of use Copenhagen's European fixtures next season to see whether or not he's up to his standards pre-injury
Vulture Watch Hey, remember when I was doing these with 2-3 games of the season to go? Anyway, as there's some carcasses to pick this summer to freshen up the squad, let's start with the the most obvious source of free range biltong and look at the various relegated teams Almere City ...are reminding me why I skipped Eredivisie teams for the last 2-3 years Boavista Layvin Kurzawa (LB, 32yo, France, contracted until 2025, used to be linked with us every summer) Robert Bozenik (CF, 25yo, Slovakia, contracted until 2026) Bochum Myron Boadu...was on loan from Monaco Empoli Sebastiano Espositio...was on loan from Inter Liam Henderson (CM, 29yo, Scotland, contracted until 2025) Farense ...are why I skipped Primeira Liga teams for the past 4-5 years. Their top scorer scored four in all competitions. FOUR! Holstein Kiel Lewis Holtby (CM, 34yo, Germany, contracted until 2025, the social media team will love him) Armin Gigovic (CM, 23yo, Sweden/Bosnia, contracted until 2025) Ipswich Liam Delap (CF, 22yo, England, contracted until 2029) Leif Davis (LB, 25yo, England, contracted until 2028) Jack Clarke (RW, 24yo, England, contracted until 2029) Las Palmas ...nope, their best players were Oli McBurnie and somebody on loan from Wolves Leganes ...moving swiftly on Leicester Wilfred Ndidi (DM, 28yo, Nigeria, contracted until 2027) Oliver Skipp (DM, 24yo, England, contracted until 2029) Harry Winks (CM, 29yo, England, contracted until 2026) Montpellier NEXT! Monza Keita Balde (AM, 30yo, Senegal, contracted until 2025, remember when we were perpetually linked with him?) Saint-Etienne Lucas Stassin (CF, 20yo, Belgium, contracted until 2028...and is currently out with a hamstring injury, so he'll fit right in) Zuriko Davitashvili (AM, 24yo, Georgia, contracted until 2028) Southampton Tyler Dibling (AM, 19yo, England, contracted until 2027) Taylor Harwood-Belis (CB, 23yo, England, contracted until 2028) Kyle Walker-Peters (RB, England, 28yo, contracted until 2025) Valladolid Florian Grillitsch...was on loan from Hoffenheim. Foxtrot Foxtrot Sierra Venezia Filip Stankovic...was on loan from Inter Waalwijk Richonell Margaret (LW, 24yo, Suriname, contracted until 2026, literally only included him because his name is utterly bloody fantastic) Yassin Oukili (DM, 24yo, Morocco, contracted until 2025)
Don't pretend we haven't had a season of people wishing we had a sideways passer in midfield for some games
Skyte Sports claim we're Leroy Sane's agents are offering him to us for when his Bayern contract expires next month I'd stick with Tel personally. Less work for the medical team On a side note, it's impressive how SpursWeb have spun two articles out of this: one with the headline about signing a two-time Premier League winner, one about a Bundesliga winner. And by "impressive", I mean "****ing shameless"
I've seen enough of both Tel and Danso to want the club to confirm both their transfers. Tel is far from a finished article , but has shown a really good attitude on and off the pitch and is a young developing talent. Danso has looked excellent at times and also has displayed a real committed attitude on the pitch. Going into a busy 25/26 season, these two will be very valuable permanent additions.
Quick few headlines to rattle through - Roony Bardghji has been saying how much he likes us in interviews. He has six months on his contract... - Fichajes say we're after Xavi Simons...so we can probably rule that out if Fichajes are saying it - Pete O'Rourke says we're looking at Panathanaikos RB Georgios Vagiannidis, which weirdly sounds like a Paratici move as he was at Inter a few years ago - GiveMeSport say we're looking at the Mansourites' James McAtee...so we can probably rule that out if GiveMeSport are reporting it
Danso's on an obligation so he will be signed this summer, with the majority of that fee offset by Marseille's obligation for Hojbjerg Also worth mentioning (since I'm here and all that) next week the Retain/Release lists will be published
Even if Danso wasn’t an obligation he’d be a no-brainer. Very decent understudy to the main two. Tel I’m more torn on. Top talent with a top attitude but feel like next season we need that immediate injection of quality. Tel’s more down the line on that than Odobert (who I think needs a loan) but £40m or so on another player that isn’t the finished article feels like we’re not prioritising what needs to be done. I’d rather put that £40m (with an extra £10m-£15m) towards someone like Mbuemo or possibly Semenyo. Then there’d also be sense in getting Sane on a free, immediately improves our depth for the wide positions with experienced and quality personnel rather than essentially having two kids who are probably anything from 1-3 years from being solid, quality options to call upon.
If we had a coach who could create a role for him at this stage of his career, to protect him from injury and burn out and tutor Bergvall, it'd make sense. We don't.
Can't be helped if the player doesn't want to join us. Can't force him. All that means is that Betis couldn't sell him to anyone whose bid we matched. Just a garbage nonsense clause that made giving Lo Celso away for free seem like slightly less of an admission of failure than it was. Modern day equivalent of receiving Frazer Campbell on loan as part of the Berbatov deal.
Bad analogy IMHO. That aside, even if the boy was PL interested, Atletico are a far safer CL regularity bet of late than Spurs could claim.
