They've effectively lost their identity. They're not Newcastle United any more. They're not owned by one person, they're owned by an Arab state. They are Saudi United, who just happen to play in Newcastle, England.

Correct. Unavoidably true. The Saudis are not shy of letting people know this either.

Ha aye. Like who has a mini break 5 games from end of season.

It was all utterly planned to the dot.

Like this, but wish they'd put
    Mayenda 76,
    Watson 90+5,
instead of just Tom Watson 90+5.

Edit. Can see why they've done it now....

Just a random thought that I didn’t see one single comment about the ref in the match day thread. That’s premier league refs for you. People moan about them but they’re much better

It was 100% offside but i'd hate to have been on the end of that VAR decision to go 2-0 up mind. Guess I don't care that much though:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Got the lineup, the scoreline and one of the scorers right. I'll take it.

yeh but that’s not really the ref’s fault and arguably not even the linesman. They’re trained to let them go to VAR if there’s any hint of it being debatable. The player was clearly off but it was understandable for them to want VAR to rule on whether he was affecting Patto. It’s frankly the way VAR should be used.

Yeah exactly. I couldn't go down and watched in the pub, when that went in I walked outside I thought we were done. The cheer I heard for it being disallowed was nearly as big as the goals:emoticon-0140-rofl:

Was bigger than a goal. The feeling when it flew in and there was no sign in ground initially of owt wrong with it was horrific.

Then the delay that was tense. Then when he was called over, you just know you’re on a winner.

    Was a moment.

Great post to read mate, brought a smile to my face reading this after everything you've been through

Folk say it's only a game, and yes it is but the club means so much more to us all - this team has not only made us proud but have made us believe again

I had a lovely conversation with my auntie who comes to games with us, her last memory of dad is him jumping up and down like a kid when Ballard scores against Coventry.

He was knackered on the way home and for 2 days afterwards.

I've some photos from Saturday of me in a heap crying my eyes out, cuddling my cousin at the final whistle, part for dad part for the lads.

This club means so much to us all

Now who's got another angle of the Hume tackle or the Watson goal? Or Patto's saves? Or the fans celebrating?

It's going to be a long summer
