I have lived in south tyneside all my life and its a 50/50 area . The banter on the whole doesn't get out of hand, with the odd exception here and there and that's normally due to individuals who you know are incapable of any sort of conversation when it comes to football. However I have to say they have excelled with their petty bitterness and shear paranoia over the last two weeks. I love the fact the last two games have ended on fantastic highs ....something they haven't had in a long time ..even their cup win gets no where near what we've had.. They now have to share national attention and I think its hurting them
He was 9 years old when we were last in the Premier League and he has never experienced a Derby, so why all the hate? We haven't been on each others radar in the leauge for half of his life, so once again, I ask,why all the hostility and hate? Why are we "Mackem bastards" in his eyes? Probably an age thing, but for me, the pressure is all on them to beat us and for us it's a free hit. Once again for me, the day they sold their soul is the day the "rivalry" ended, they can't have it all ways. In truth, he'll grow up one day. Until then, good luck up until he gets there.
He has been taught to hate, by an insecure and poor parent. Bang on about the Derby too. You only know after a game. After the cup game I felt no different to the way I'd felt when we had lost any other game. Once, I'd have been beyond consolation.
Mate, like you I'd be in a dark room for days so to speak. But now, they don't bother me and that's the truth. When the lads got promoted on Saturday, bits of Kids Newcastle "fans" at work, "still ****e, yous will be straight back down", blah blah blah, using wisdom I simply ask "where we're you born", 9 times out of 10, "Washington, Gateshead" etc, "not really a Geordie then are you? It's not biting and it's in no way a slur on lads that support Sunderland from let's say, London at all, but it's great tool for disarming young punks.
The thought of getting flattened by a £550m Sportswashing Juggernaut was frustrating, but watching their fans whirl their free scarves with their eyes glazed over felt like a pack of really annoying family members had buggered off and joined a cult. A little bit sad but also a sense of relief
Newcastle United can never now beat the 6 in a row ( remember that is part of 9 games in a row they didn’t have a win ) . If Saudi do us 6 times it’s just as expected as Liverpool or City might do . I’m going to be more upset losing to Brentford , Bournemouth ( no disrespect to them , they have/are doing amazing)
I already had an answer for them when they beat us in the cup last season when they went on about it. I told them that they couldn't beat us when it was a level playing field, it took blood money to do it. They had no answer
Living in Washington, if I ever get any snide remarks of the little twats I always say if you ****ing hate Sunderland so much then why live here?? Why don’t you **** off and go and live somewhere else?? Anyway, I’ve already got some anti Newcastle songs lined up for the derby games: “You drop phosphorus bombs on children’s heads!” “You drop phosphorus bombs on children’s heads!” “You drop phosphorus bombs on children’s heads!” “You murdering, head chopping bastards!” ….well I like it!
I see whay you are doing. Plenty of time to improve it if people offer constructive criticism mate, I like your style!
