I think its good in a way that happened though with Isak as it may have reinforced to everyone that more firepower is needed even if it has to be a big money signing.
The fact nobody at the club could see what Joelintons best attributes were until after he moved to cm is worth taking note of.
Actually it was a chance discovery. Howe has admitted to moving him there due to necessity rather than any pre planned observations.
Well no one knew for sure he should be moved into midfield, Howe admits it was a bit serendipitous as it was the result of Clark getting red carded in the Norwich game, forcing him to rearrange the team and move Joelinton into midfield.
Back in the 90's I knew a kid who when they were only 12 years old was watching Thierry Henry play ONCE for Monaco (against Newcastle)...they turned to their dad and said 'He should be a striker not a winger'....If i told you what he then thought about Van Dijk and Salah years before they hit the big time with Liverpool you may not believe me but the point is you need the right people who have the gift for seeing potential or ability in employment at the club. He's not and never has been employed by NUFC, in fact i think he now does some manual unskilled labor job....i reckon possibly if he had been an advisor for the club even at 12 years old Newcastle would have won the prem many times by now....some very very few people have that gift maybe...i certainly never thought of moving Joelinton to midfield...i mean who did?
Found it....flip....seems maybe YOU should be putting those applications in....perhaps send that thread link to Eddie Howe...if you get the job tell Joelinton to buy boots with better studs.
I think it was mentioned earlier, but Joelinton plays on the edge, he's highly emotional and unfortunately in the moment of shooting you need to be calm.... The **** just doesn't mix.
Barely....and only cos maybe Martinez decided to abandon the rules of 'soccer' and play American football with Højlund.
No. That is a fraction of the season. We managed to qualify for the CL over the full season. We had hard luck stories during the season and good luck ones too. Yes Martinez helped but he was only one very small fraction of the thousands and thousands of incidents. I’m not saying I didn’t want him fit and playing BUT we qualified and given we weren’t going to win the PL it didn’t matter if we qualified by being 20 points ahead or by GD. The main thing was to qualify and we did. Same with winning the L Cup, it didn’t make any difference if we won by 5 or 1, we would win the Cup so long as we scored 1 more goal than the other finalists.
Joelinton was probably motm in the final... If you look at out best runs you see there's no Joelintons absence. He's an essential player and we don't have anyone else to fill in and do the same job.
