I dunno about these, would much prefer Mbeumo: Newcastle United are holding showdown talks with England Under-21 forward Liam Delap, 22, as they look to convince the Ipswich Town player to join them instead of Everton, Manchester United or Chelsea. (TeamTalk), external Newcastle also have a serious interest in Brighton's Brazil forward Joao Pedro, 23. (i Paper - subscription needed)
The downside to not really watching teams that aren't NUFC is that i have nee idea who half of these players are.
Akliouche is the player I'm hoping for and I suspect Mitchell is genuinely after him... Monaco links. Peak player
Man United are still the bigger draw and can still offer a higher wage, however I don't think Mbeumo was ever a player Newcastle would sign.
I don't care about Cunha as I don't think he's our type of player at all and there's question marks over his attitude (though the fellow Brazilians may have been the people to sort things out). Mbuemo hurts a little though, I wanted him last summer (I made a number of posts on it) and he's followed it up by scoring 20 prenier league goals. He's absolute quality and, still quite young and has done it in this league. If he's not our type of player then I genuinely don't know what is.
Couple of rumours abound from twats like Talk ****e and Football insider - all stemming from Fabrizio Romano saying Manure "appreciate" the player - lad scored 20 goals this season, every team appreciates what he can do ffs.
I’m not bothered at all about the likes of Mbuemo and Cunha. They’ve both peaked this season and whilst they could theoretically carry it on, it could also be downhill particularly with more pressure. I’m not a fan of getting players in just as they’ve become superstars, we need to be there before they do and bring them on. Forest this season a great example.
Both are very good, but the job is to continue to find players the big clubs don't act on. There's so many players out there, but fanbases latch on to one link and become obsessed with it. We've seen this with Paqueta, Diaby and Guehi to name a few.
Excellent - hopefully they sign those 3 and then people can hold them to ransom to over their sales - or better yet just leave them massively overloaded paying obscene wages. For a team that play without an out and out winger Mbuemo is a bit of a strange one. Agree rather find the emerging talent like Huijsen, Kerkez, Wharton, Baleba etc.
Screw that, I'd want both Cunha and Mbeumo. However if they go elsewhere, there are plenty of excellent players in those positions that we could go out and get so I'll not be overly concerned unless we end up without the positions filled that we need.
Not Cunha - don't want him at all, Mbuemo would take in a heartbeat but strange for Man U to go for him when they don't play with wide players, Delap I'm not fussed on want's to much for what he's achieved. Look at Ferguson at Brighton - was going to be a world beater now he can't start for West Ham...
Depending on the fee yes - but he managed one goal in 23 app's this year, and 6 in 36 for Brighton last year - 7 goals in 59 apps in the last few years. Could be great, could be ****e.
