I’d want more than 15 points by Christmas. Promoted teams tend to drop off the longer the season goes on.
Good sensible long term recruitment in the same vein as we have only only at a higher level given the financial human growth hormone that is premier league money. Not really sure how we will do on the pitch. The recruitment will dictate that.
Ya love going back mate, move forward. Henderson is done, Welbeck fair enough had a decent season but he is mid 30's aswell! I think Mayenda will surprise a few prem defenders with his pace, strength and control!
First win. 10 points. Derby win. Avoid relegation. I’ll be honest and say I think it’s likely we’ll go back down. But there’s a possibility we will stay up and I’m fully expecting us to give it at least a good go.
The targets for next season will be the manager, the coaches, KLD, Speakman and O'Nien ... ... just as it was for most of this season
Take each game as it comes, will be a huge ask to stop up but I’ve learned better than to write these lads off
Most of the pundits and experts said we had very little chance of getting past Coventry, they then said we had very little chance of getting past Sheffield Utd. Now we have very little chance of staying up next season. But we seem to like a challenge.
exactly. We do best as the underdog. Everyone scoffed when Gab Sutton said we’d win the league and then shut up quickly after we won our first 5 or 6
I thought and said so that we'd get promoted to the PL, though thought it'd be automatically. IMO, these lads with an additional sprinkling of quality and a couple with a fair bit of top flight experience, will stay up.
Underdogs mate and we wouldn't have it any other way. We were favourite to win League one pretty much every year we were down there and I'm sure we never finished above 5th. We love the odds stacked against us. It will be a massive ask to finish 17th but at least we've put ourselves in a position to give it a go.
Target for next season, score a 95th min goal on the last day of the season to stay up on goal difference. As the saying goes Till the end!
This. If we achieve it, then it's the same again next year and maybe 6th bottom the one after that. Whatever happens, it's important to me that we don't tear it all up and start again. Buying young talent and building through our academy is the only way this club will ever be successful. It's also exciting and fills me with pride to see a team full of local lads too. I'll stand by that even if the next 3 seasons are relegation, followed by successive playoff defeats.
