Bryan Barrie-Murphy still the favourite on evens. I notice that Richie-Wellens is in the betting. He’s got a tune out of Leyton Orient this season and after yesterday’s result could be a candidate.
My only issue with that is short-termism. A manager will make tactical decisions for his tenure. We are in desperate need of a strategic view. It's where players from the academy have been let down. A disconnect between the academy and the first team. No clear pathway. No identity.
In fairness, with Colwill x 2, Ashford, Davies, Kpakio, Reindorf, Lawlor, Giles and more there is now a much clearer path to the first team. .ore than we have seen in my memory. It is now about finding the right balance in terms of how many can play regularly at first team capability and, hopefully, moving up to the next level.
I know we currently have a glut of youngsters, but I don't know if that's luck or judgement. We still need a 'style' that will get the best out of them.
For my humble preference, I'd swap Ramsey and Evatt, but no strong feelings either way with the top 2. Underwhelmed to be fair.
There has to be a decision soon hasn’t there? This farce has taken too long. City probably have missed out on some players; the season will soon enough be on us. It’s a massive decision and the clowns have to get it right.
Buckingham odds halved from 4/1 last night in to 2/1 first thing this morning - the other contenders stay the same.
Yup - Wayne Rooney @ 33/1............. Seriously though, I've never ever had a punt on any "next City manager" offer - absolutely no chance with Tan deciding.
What gets me is that Tan is making this crucial decision presumably from the lounge in his house somewhere in Malaysia. I can understand the financial implications of his decision are his alone, but that's not the only criteria involved here. If he's adamant it's to be his final decision, out of respect for the supporters, the applicants and in the wider interests in the future of this club, he should get his arse across here and conduct the process locally. There are plenty of absentee owners amongst the clubs, but as far as I know, apart from the financial implications major decisions like this are left to others.
Dalman and Choo have been speaking to Tan and put 50p each on. It'll be a wasted 50p as he'll no doubt change his mind.
Wurzels eyeing up Selles if Manning goes to Norwich. Both teams capable of being promoted to the Premier League next season. Meanwhile, back in Division 3….
Our players can't cope with formation changes between games as it is. How would they deal with morphing from 442 to 433 to 4231 to 4141 within a game. Colwill snr would get sea sick moving from the right to 8 to 10 and back again.
