He's been injured for a third of the season and obviously not at his best when he came back. Previous 3 seasons he had double figures in the league. Plus he's a winger anyway, he gets a decent goal return.
That's why when we have a great prospect at Newcastle we keep them grounded by selling them off. Elliot Anderson, get in the bin lad alongside Shearer, Keegan, Carrick, Gazza, Waddle, etc. It's a big brain tactic to try and keep them humble. Please note: parts of this post are exaggerated for comic effect.
In fairness to Chelsea and Tottenham they will be there having been champions of a european competition (if Chelsea win that is). Arsenal, Man City and ourselves can make no such claim.
Enough of the excuses Mikel. saka is Overhyped massively. I'm not complaining like I hope he stays as arsenal's starboy for years to come as they won't win **** with his goal average of 12goals a year as one of a front 3.
I'm not sure I would class them as goal scorers though within their respective teams, so it depends how you are measuring their ability, it's on goals scored, then for me it's the wrong measurement. I deem Kane as a goal scorer, Haaland as a goal scorer, but everyone is set up to feed them. Personally of late I think Haaland should not have been allowed to come back as soon as he did as a starter, he should have been made to sit on the bench and await his turn. What i'd like to see for all those players is the assists or did their initial effort set a move on it's way. Their actual involvement in a game and what impact it had. The trouble for Palmer at Chelsea is he's playing in a team of wannabe's, selfish ****s. Edit: oh and I should have added, you gave Sterling away to Arsenal, another selfish ****. I said he wouldn't work to Piskie.
Which is obviously decent from playing on the side of the front 3, Gordon and Murphy both got 9 goals this season for is, which was a decent return. Obviously they need a proper striker, but I really don't find Saka overrated. I've got no reason to make excuses for him, I dunno why an average of 12 goals a season for a winger is overrated.
He's not a winger tho is he. He's one of a front three And 12 a season might be okay for you but it's clearly not enough to achieve success evidently. I like saka tbh but 6 league goals is pathetic, he only missed what was it 6/8 games or something?
I'm not comparing him to Salah though, I'm just judging him on his goal output and the assertion that he's not good enough to be in a front 3. Outside of Salah, in the Liverpool front 3 this season, Gakpo got 10 league goals and Diaz got 13. In the 3 previous seasons Saka got 11, 14 and 16 league goals. He's obviously nowhere near Salah, but easily good enough to be in there front 3. Accusations of a poor goal return aren't true.
Arsenal need a decent up front striker that Saka can feed. I'd be interested in Eze if I were Arteta. Get rid of Sterling ffs.
