Mine was in 1987. Hoops vs Spurs. Bobby mimms had a shocker and we won. I will in no way beat our older members here but what was your first game at Loftus road?
1958 but can’t remember against who, remember seeing Arthur Longbottom score from near the halfway line
Sometime in 1975, we'd moved to Acton in 74 and my dad had started going then. I was far too young to remember who that first game was against, although I think it must've been round about September/ October so possibly Newcastle or Everton - both wins. My sons first game was v Hull on New Years Day 2016, rememberable because it was Robert Greens last game for us after he decided to flap at the ball, and hit the Hull player, deflecting the ball in to the net
Sheffield Wednesday at home, the first home game of the 94-95 season. Won 3-2 but looking on Wiki we had a disastrous start to the season and recovered to finish a glorious eighth in the final season of it being 22 teams. All downhill to the point of being vertical from there.
West Ham away with the old man in the chicken run (lost 1-2) 1979. My real first game was Wrexham at home (lost 0-1) 1980, last game before Venables took over.
Taken by my father January 1966 against Brentford, won 1-0.... used to be perched on a crash barrier on SA Road terrace to see the games.....
Mine was Ipswich away in the mid/late 70s which ended in a pitch invasion and running riots after the game. Apparently it involved loads of Chelsea fans. If anyone was there please let me know exact year as I was very young !
Thanks for letting me know. I couldn't tell you a single player from that game, but I'm guessing it was my first glimpse of Rodney.
My first game was Middlesborough at home January 1982 1-1 draw, 3rd round of FA Cup. We beat them in the replay away and went on to reach Wembley. It was a long journey in those days from Dublin, ferry to Holyhead and the slow train down to Euston. I came back over for the final in May and stayed for the replay. My Uncle queued up for hours to get tickets for me to both games. I remember we made a big banner for the Cup Final, out of a sheet, it said "Hazell Nuts Archie's balls". Bob Hazell and Steve Archibald. Happy days.
I don't know what my first game was. I used to live in the block of flats behind the school end, Rhodes House. I was about 2 or 3 when I was playing in the courtyard and toddled around to the stadium and got in to what must now be the paddock. It was probably when they opened the gates 20 minutes before the final whistle. I think we played a team in white and it was under the floodlights. I ended up sitting on the counter of Shepherds Bush police station where my mum eventually found me. This would've been 1968/69. The first game that I actually fully remember and paying to get in was v Southampton in the first game of the season at home in August 1973. I think it finished 1-1. I would've been 7.
