I didn’t like, the quoted fee being €30m isn’t bad either

I think he was going regardless of what division we were in. His family will have all this planned out for him. They’ll see it as time to make the next step.

Thanks for the memories, Jobe. He seems a great lad. All the best to him.

I’m sure we’ll replace him with someone a lot better.

There are some injury worries around him which eould make me cautious. I really liked the look of Sydie Peck in their midfield as well, think he has a bright future ahead of him.

I think Rigg stays but Jobe will probably move. No real info on it just my opinion.

People are going to disagree I’m not happy with that Jobe news.

I didn’t necessarily expect him to stay but the fact it’s done this quick after the final doesn’t sit with me right, maybe just me

Rigg hasn't earned a move yet. Would be a weird move for everyone involved if he moved on this summer.

If a premier league club bigger than us signed him they would likely loan him out to a championship club.

    Just cannot see him moving.

He has been approached by several big teams over the last 2 years offering him all kinds of incentives and money.
Last I heard was a few months ago and there were a lot of teams circling looking to do deals (these were not smaller teams in Prem but bigger European teams). At that time Riggy and his family had decided to continue his journey with Sunderland.
I also know that to get him to sign his contract with Sunderland at 16 KLD visited his home and spoke with him and his family personally and that he did not promise them anything outlandish at the time (to fend of interest from other clubs) he only told them that Sunderland had a plan and a pathway for their son and would support him into first team football.

And I think all of that likely remains true.

He hasn't shown enough to break into a side at that level yet but he is likely to get a lot of game time in the premier league with us next year.

He will be a star but he is some way off that yet.

Would be a very odd time to move in my books.

Pleased for him, have his all here and bought into it all, think we’ll see him at the SOL fairly regularly would have loved to have a year in the prem with him but his family clearly have a plan for him and have to put him first, all the best Jobe will watch his career from afar, Enzo isn’t a bad replacement either expect his perm announcement to come after jobe goes to soften the blow

I still think the info that was about in Jan about the gentleman agreement was accurate. Just seems to have played out that way. For the news to come out straight after. His own social media posts etc.

I believe whoever in here said a few weeks ago that Jobe’s parents didn’t want him in the premier league at this stage of his career. I think it was inevitable he’d move on.

I still think he’d potentially be worth £50m with a good season next year. But it will still have been a great deal for the club.

And dare I say if we recruit well, we may end up with a replacement for Jobe who is better NOW albeit with lower potential. Will be hard to find but it’s not impossible.

Dortmund were very confident a deal would be done according to a scout i know in Germany. That was before the playoff final though but he said that were confident no matter what

I'd be gutted to lose him as really do think he could be class in the PL and be worth silly money this time next year

Having said that it would give us more money to hopefully sign and even better play for now. If the player wants to go, which from what I'm hearing he does, then there's no much we can do. We treat players right so as you've said we likely had a gentlemen's agreement in place months ago

If he does go, then let's do it quickly

Also Jobe or frankly any of these players can go with our thanks now. As long as we get a good deal.

Has anybody seen what kinda fee Dortmund will pay? 25m or so?

If he goes, we have Le Fee where he belongs best but we lose someone who retains possession and has good height and physicality. Before he came people wanted a Viera light to give us a bit of height but we got a classy ball player.
