Amorim's stubbornness is self-defeating. Purely ego-driven without thinking about how to get the most out of what we have right now, right here!

The other part of the conundrum is whether that system will actually suit the Premier League's needs and demands. Even if we brought in the whole Lisbon's team that Amorim was successful with, is it guaranteed that one size will fit all? I am not so sure. This is why adaptability is the most valuable trait of a good manager in this league. If you don't adapt and even reinvent, the team will eventually get stuck.

Na he has a style and a way he wants to play - that he believes in. Nothing wrong with that.

This could be true. We haven't seen many teams successful with three at the back in the EPL although Chelsea did win the league with a similar setup under Conte.

I was reading that once Amorim went to Sporting to get the players he wanted that fitted his system, he got rid of around 25 players til he had the team and players that worked

    Absolutely nothing wrong with it.

And completely transparent right from the very start that his intention was to drill the squad into his way of thinking for the rest of this season and assess the current squad.

Having already said that, ideally, he wouldn't take the job till the end of this season.

It's not even that hard to work out tbh.

We ****ed up a EL final we should have won, but this narrative that it's a disaster because we haven't made money is utter bunk, it's sad we didn't win a cup but that's it, we aren't currently good enough for the champions league so sod being in it.

Pre season, some playing changes, and on we go again into next next season.

When there will be, obviously, a plan ****ing B as well.

Money from Europe is not a narrative, Chief. It’s mathematics! It will only make things harder.

And the idea that it’s okay that we didn’t qualify because we are not going to be good enough for the competition, does that mean we expect the team to be abysmal next season? Surely we better from the team come August.

In other news, McTominay has been named the player is the season in Italy. He was deemed never good enough for Manchester United.

Maybe we should put in a bid for him.

No, it's means we won't have European football cluttering up the mid week. Which means fewer games and more rest, not travelling over Europe competing in a competition we ultimately won't win. We can also trim the squad.

Let's see how likes of Forest, Palace and Newcastle perform now European football is added to their tables.

As for McTominay, he should have stayed. A very useful squad player, no doubt.

(yet) Another mistake by Ten Hag.

£100million champions league money is not a trophy.
Ultimately, only telly clappers care, it's forgotten very quickly by most.

I'm going today, if we'd have won on Wednesday they'd have been parading a trophy, not a large cheque.

I’m sure why all of sudden suggesting not qualifying for champions league is a good thing. This is the worse rationalization of failure in football!

We have just had a season of insane money spent to bring in players in the summer, change of manager to rescue the season, and we end up in 16th place. But here we are telling ourselves that failure is actually a good thing. <doh>

37 games late to that decision. Very difficult to understand why we persisted with him as number one.

Because most actual football supporters, who follow our team, don't give a **** about prize money.

It's a relatively new thing, prize (yay!!!!) money.

Look how much money you get for getting tenth. Ta daaaaaaa.

Most don't give a **** mate, only you.

Buy hey, don't let me shut you up, you keep papping on about money and ****, it's really interesting, honest.

Stop it! You’re starting to sound ridiculous!

This was the same bs attitude of how “it isn’t our money and we shouldn’t care about United transfer fees and salaries”.

It is absolutely ******ed to claim that real fans don’t care about the financial wellbeing of a club they love. Absolutely fkin ******ed!

You’ve generally had that attitude that money is irrelevant, especially with the insane salaries we pay. Hence the quote. But the reality is that many of our problems are deeply rooted in bad finances and capital allocation.

Our problems are deeply rooted in poor players.
Hojland is not good enough as main striker (i actually prefer Zirkzee who is also not quite good enough). Midfield needs a genuin playmaker (Bruno is not that at PL standard and as captain is the first head to drop or shake).
The defence/wide areas are good enough, not great but good enough.
We actually create quite a lot of chances (good chances) but have nobody to finish them, can Cunha be that player i don't know.
I have been supporting the club for over 60 years and have seen much worse than what we have now so have some optimism that we can do better next season with a full pre-season of getting used to what the manager requires.

I think that a major issue for us in the last few years is that our dressing room has always suffered from a degree of toxic influence - Pogba, Ronaldo, Sancho, Rashford etc. If Amorim can solve that problem (and it appears that he won't stand for any ****e), then we stand a chance of a successful rebuild.

So, Bruno to leave, or keep?

    Difficult one.
