Yeah not even close to being good enough.

I’d love to wake up to an announcement tomorrow morning thanking him for the trophy but saying he’s gone.

Could you imagine this current squad and manager in the Champions League next season without major changes

Such a tough one. I really can’t decide but how can you get rid of a manager who just won the first trophy in years?

The only issue is if we start off badly next season then he’ll have to go and we’d have lost a potential summer under a new manager and the pool to select from may be a lot smaller in September/October with the season well under way.

The fact levy kept him in January though after the Everton and Leicester games makes me think he will still be here next season.

If he stays, Hopefully the champions league qualification will boost this summers budget and we can continue to back him as we have done since he got here.

Equally how can you keep a manager who has just delivered the worst season in half a century?

It’s down to emotion or logic imo.

I can’t see how Levy looks at the situation and thinks Ange is the man to take Spurs forward after what we’ve seen from him so far.

Exactly. Such a tough decision. I really would be surprised if levy sacks him though especially after keeping him post everton and Leicester in January and he’s definitely not walking so expect him to be in the dugout for the super cup.

Let’s hope we continue to spend in the summer and Ange has learnt his lessons this season and there is a middle ground between “Ange ball” and all out defence.

Ideal solution? Ange has already agreed his departure as he wants to return to Australia.
His replacement has already been lined up and has been given a £300m Summer budget.

Now let's see how far from that we get....<laugh>

Reasonably sure Paratici already has a shortlist

The fact that two of the names on there are Inzaghi are a slight issue...

I find him a bit delusional, either that or he really wants to keep his job.

He’s acting like it was a plan all along to give up on the league and focus on Europa.

Let's be clear. We won that trophy despite Ange, not because of him.

Clearest proof of this is the fact that we had to abandon the football he spent a year and a half boasting about, in order to win games.

    Two counter points

1.) Poch abandoned the football he spent four years boasting about to reach the Champions League final
2.) Ramos didn't change his tactical plan to win our previous piece of silverware, and those tactics did marvelously the following season didn't they...?

The point I'm making is we're now in a position where the people who criticised Ange for not changing his tactics are now criticising him for changing his tactics, which underlines that when people talk about Doing Enough will always change their definition of what Doing Enough even is no matter what happens like we're the comment pages of the Grauniad in 2016-17 all over again when there's much better arguments for and against to be made

It's also quite odd that we saw Ange do the exact opposite of both Conte, Villas-Boas and the ubermensch by tweaking his tactics (for Europe, at least) for his second season while they doubled down on their tactical plan above all else in their second seasons

The key thing Ange has at the moment is he has worked hard to change the narrative around the club, both telling the players they can be good enough if they put in the effort and pushing back against some of the more bellended attendees at press conferences, which does compare favourably with the ubermensch coming in and telling the players they weren't as good as they think they are on his first day in charge or Conte acting like he was doing us a favour by being here. Is that sustainable? Probably not, but that does point to the sort of manager we do need to be looking for going forward

Honestly think he's earned a third season, but there's little chance he'd see it out. Then again, three months ago I was saying pretty much the same thing just with the numbers one lower

Realistically it depends on two people: what Ange wants to do going forward, and if Paratici has ideas going forward

Screw it, I’ve changed to no. I think the players we have are a lot better than 17th and would suit most managers so not worried that we’d need a major reshuffle therefore let him start the next season and we can change in September/October if needs be.

For awhile now I've thought that Ange is a huge gambler. Looking at his team selections and tactics this season, some of them have been downright bizarre.

Persisting for so long with players like Werner, in the hope that they will eventually produce the goods and his selections would be justified.

Or his attacking fullbacks leaving gaping holes in behind the defense, praying we can outscore the opposition.

Smacks to me of the mindset of a gambler, risking it all and hoping to be vindicated at the end of 90 minutes.

As shown with the league standings, he has failed miserably and theres no excuses for that. We were found out very early on and got crucified & outsmarted for it.

It worked out in the Europa League, where he got extremely lucky with the path to the final.

If he stays, will he have learned anything from the season, is he willing to adapt his tactics. Or will he go again and gamble on a better league position with a few new faces and the same ol gung ho cavalier style football and pray that another cup might be his safety net.

Would you take another rubbish league campaign (not relegated) if it meant a League or FA cup win next season?

More than anything else, if Francesco Farioli is being touted, I'd stick with Ange

Farioli has disaster stamped all over him after his Herculean bottle job at Ajax this season, plus it's hard to ignore he's fallen out with the boards at Nice and Ajax in back-to-back seasons

I sincerely hope this is Paratici getting a plate spinning so we have an option
