I'm not sure. Waiting for a bit might be wise. Let the adrenaline calm down, let the players (who clearly still retain a fondness for him) jet off to continue doing bugger all only on a beach instead of a field, then swing the axe.
Agreed. I don’t think we’ll get relegated. I mean there’s a chance, but I believe there will be 3 worse teams than us. But what a depressing season it’ll be next year if we’re lingering around 13th-17th and getting battered in the CL.
Ange has just described our season as "outstanding". The man is a walking insult to the likes of Jol, Redknapp and Poch and what they built. The amount of disrespect poured into them in the past few days by journalists has been unbelievable.
It has been an amazing season we all know we won’t all of a sudden become regular relegation candidates so I’m not sure why the panic to that extent tbh and you had the best night being a Spurs in 3 decades I bet That’s what football is about for gods sake can’t we replace one season of winning **** all and celebrating finishing 5th for a season like this one? after Pool I’d say we have had the most exciting season and we have been the most successful English team in Europe. We were never in relegation danger imo
Redknapp never took the Europa League seriously and only took the league cup seriously in his first season. He did really well and has the respect of spurs fans. Pochettino did really well but unfortunately couldn't get over the line and is extremely respected by fans. Jol started our transformation and will always be remembered well. But Ange delivered a major European trophy. Something not done in 41 years. He is not is not an insult to the above... our first trophy in 17 yrs and CL football secured deserves respect imo and compared to all the nearly seasons it is outstanding season.
I have mixed feelings. Absolutely incredible to win a trophy, but to be so bad really does taint it for me. If we were mid table i would accept it. But 17th and 38 points is a joke. It makes me feel very angry towards the team and I have no faith that Ange is the man to turn it round. I think we should say thanks very much and part ways and then focus on getting the next manager in early and allowing them a transfer window to get prepared for a very important season where balancing champions league football and the premier league will be incredibly difficult.
Think your arguments are as ridiculous as the reasons used to justify the sacking of pochettino to get JM in. We won a European trophy 4 days ago ffs
the previous 40 plus years over this solitary one for a start I’m not Levy’s biggest fan as you all know however I believe he would have pulled the trigger in December/january and proof of that is our recent history of replacing manager after manager under Levy’s watch…even sacked one a few days before a final i truly believe the club made a conscious decision to focus on the Europa and Levy went with it. If there was no CL carrot at the end of it, Levy would have pulled that trigger. I don’t buy much into patterns of league performance from season to season, if that’s how it works, then we would have won the league a few times by now…we haven’t because one season isn’t always the same as the previous one for us…there is no proof to suggest otherwise.
Serious question for everyone anti ange... 30 years from now which seasons will you talk about... 2010 coming 4th and Fa Cup semi final 2016 coming 3rd 2017 coming 2nd and fa cup semi final 2018 coming 3rd and fa cup semi final 2019 coming 4th and CL final 2025 coming 17th and winning the EL Think there's a lot of negative ott reaction tbh
Two athletes entered to compete in the Olympic Games. They chose the high jump. The first athlete set the bar higher than anyone had ever seen it placed. He retreated to take his run up. The crowd waited, no one dared to breathe. He stormed toward the bar, hit his jump, soared through the air and just clipped the bar with his hip on his way down. Everyone groaned and called him failure. The second athlete stepped forward. He walked up to the bar and lowered it by a metre. Then he retreated to take his run up. He stormed toward the bar, hit his jump, and cleared it. The crowd stood in unison to give him a standing ovation for the historic achievement. Many demanded that he be selected to represent his country at the next Games, calling his accomplishment 'outstanding'. There were some in the crowd who pointed out how he'd lowered the bar by a metre compared to his predecessors, but they were quickly silenced by sentimentality.
2016/17 remains my favourite PL season, by quite a distance. Unbelievable football, unbeaten at home, what a send off for the old girl, destroyed teams left right and center. Loved it.
2017 is going to be talked about as that was us saying farewell to The Lane anyway 2019's going to be spoken about when the reformed Austro-Hungarian Empire retake Slovenia by force and no Spurs fan seems to have any sympathy
