Albon fast again, I've always rated him and suspected at the time his problem at RBR was the car being designed around Verstappen, to everyone other driver's detriment.

Ah - I didn’t realise that. No criticism intended.

3 place grid drop for Hamilton, which will tip the tactical tables in McLaren’s favour.

The Mandatory two stops only exposes Monaco even more i think. Lawson has just deliberately lost 40 seconds to let Hadjar stop twice...

This race is really straddling the dividing line between strategically interesting and farcical.

A festering turd of a race this.

We keep building cheese for tyres.

    We keep mandating pit stops.

    Repeat after me:

    THE

    CARS

    ARE

    TOO

    BIG

    FOR

    MONACO

Farcical. The answer is farcical. Albon letting Sainz by to then drop 40 seconds himself settles that.

Monaco is a **** race, F1 cars need to go back to how they used to be in the 00s plus bring back V8s or V10s. F1 definitely one sport that gets worse on a yearly basis.

Not a good move though now stewards have given him a drive through! I'm surprised Merc didn't wait for stewards decision before doing same with other car.

Putting all the nonsense aside, a statement weekend from Norris.

After qualifying in Imola, it was really looking bleak and now he's right back in it. Hopefully this is the corner turned.

Different story live, my mate has been to a few and it was his favourite, you're closer to the track than at any other GP, and they go past 78 times.

As to the mandatory pit-stops, I think they were hopin it would make it a bit like Bahrain last year. (or was it Qatar?)

Next up Barcelona where we see the new flexi wing ban come in as well as some further car upgrades.

Should tell us whether there’s any threat to McLaren - if they come through that strongly they look set to battle it out and win both titles.

Monaco is simply a party for those who work in F1. It is not entertainment and 2 pit stops did nothing to improve it.
I did watch it knowing it was going to be boring. The most exciting thing was watching Verstappen hoping for a red flag.
However, I am pleased for Norris.

I think your first sentence is the sole reason that they`ll never get rid of the Monaco GP,because it is simply a party for those who work in F1.
You can also add the rich and famous, beauliful people and those that wish to be seen in Monaco, they just love it.

Flexi wing nerf will be hilarious if it doesn’t affect anyone except Red Bull.

It’s also the toughest challenge for the drivers. Let’s remember that before taking it off the calendar.

The two stops added a bit of variation to the race in the sense that you had RB and Williams making unusual strategic plays to maximise their result, but you can’t argue it was any more entertaining or interesting, really. Up front it had no effect and if it had it would have been for Verstappen and RedBull to take a lucky win, which again - outside of the championship context - wouldn’t have been particularly satisfying either.

During this rules era, I do think we’ve moved from a situation where it’s improbable cars will pass one other to a situation where it’s effectively impossible that cars will pass one another. With a new ruleset next year, it’s worth seeing if that has any effect, but if not, I do think more radical options have to be looked at.

Not for me it’s not .

I love watching it , the skill required to keep it on the track is , for me , enough to justify its existence.

I doubt very much if it’s in any way a party for the mechanics .Don’t get me wrong , it’s very VERY far from ideal , but I don’t want to see it gone .

Also some of the drivers love it .
