I don't think Hamer is overweight I think it's his build and his built like a Rugby Union player. The question is... Is he an upgrade on Arronson? and the answer is yes. Is he Premier League quality? Probably. We've been linked to him for 3 seasons now and at some points we've gone up against the likes of Everton. Personally I think we could get him for less than what the Blunts we're asking for him back in August. We're the ones in the driving seat atm as the Blunts failed to get promoted and we're the more attractive option. He would get 1st team football as a CAM.
I don’t think he is an upgrade on Aaronson - Aaronson has 36 games of PL experience under his belt gained when he was only 22 He got off to a flying start looking worth every penny of his high fee including a goal in our win against Chelsea Including the EFL cup he has featured in 47 games this season, a physical league, I’d not right him off for Hamer
Its not a question of Hamer or Aaronson in my mind. Hamer is a different type of player to Aaronson. It was Farke himself that suggested we needed another type/style of 10 as an alternative option. Buendia was mentioned as that player in January and Hamer is a very similar player. Buendia has had an awful loan spell in Germany since January and has clearly struggled to recover from his injury before that loan. Hamer would be a cheaper option and is clearly Sheff Utds best player by a distance. They fell apart yesterday after he went off.
Just to be clear, I'd love to sign Fernandes from Southampton. That lad is gonna be top tier level in a few seasons. Problem is his £30 million price tag. McAtee would also be a better signing than Hamer.
I think Fernandes is way out of our realistic budget unless we're going to bring in a load of free agents. The question over McAtee is realistically how much do City want for him?
Afternoon all. I wouldn’t mind signing the Sheffield United goalkeeper. He looks like an upgrade on the two we have.
Troy Parrot was signed 12 months ago for £3m we’ve been told he can join for £25m so the board has closed interest in him, good decision I’d say
well a week today we can see if we've done any early business with the transfer market opening. We have to be shyte hot from the get go. seasoned pro's are a must in our 1st season back. The Young and potential have to be put on a backburner for a season or 2. Thing is all the Prem lads will now be booking there holibobs so we could be looking later in the month for them. I really hope we don't dabble in the championship as the ones that are looking possibilities are in the teams that have came up. couple of possibilities from the Blunts Hamer and The keeper Cooper but they still going to cost more than we should be paying. This is the season we will see what the 49ers strategy really is. Big season for Farke aswell as he gets the final say on the incomings. Some sort of formation change 50-60% we are going to be under the cosh in many away games so different type of players will be needed for that. we aint going to go toe to toe and come out with 60-70% possession in many games like now. I'm excited but also shytin mesen. this transfer window is really the make or break of our 1st season back. its massively important we get it right probably the most important window of my 40 years of supporting Leeds.
Since he was about 17Irish international. He’s young and he’s good but at current level he’s not pl standard in my opinion. May improve of course but we can’t be buying lads to wait on their development
Set plays are going to be vital back in the Prem aswell. Something we really have to look at. because, even though we won the league and got 100 pts we were shocking at them and this is a step even higher up the ladder. Not to bothered now of the muscle as in the Prem it's a non contact sport with var and happy blowing refs . The Prem is all about Pace, fitness, skill. basically keeping up. all these players off the pace need to go. Time to be Brutal I'd be very unhappy if we didn't start our new season with 4-5-6 making there debuts. Another reason to get them in early to bed them in etc, etc. Lot's of work to do but this is the big time Baby!
Exactly. That’s why I’d get rid of Firpo, Byram, Gruev and Piroe. They’ve been excellent servants for the club but no room for slow players in the PL
Not sure I agree about Piroe, Chris Wood has scored a lot of goals this season and he’s hardly a greyhound. You definitely need pace in the team but not everyone can be lightening quick and Piroe is a decent finisher.
ok so far this season, within this thread we have been linked with 29 players (10 of those are from the AI post I made). In last season's summer transfer thread, 42 players were linked, of which we eventually signed 8. Some of those links that we were signed, were only mentioned a day or 2 before the club actually announced the signing. Anyways so here's a list of all the players that we were linked to at the start of the season's summer transfer thread, where they ended up and how many games they played this season. Anyone in that list, you think we really missed out on ?
