Robbie Keane seen mentioned today would add up. HDM reported interest before when we had a vacancy if I remember rightly + his side had one more game to decide a title this weekend hence a possible delay into next week?
Because he's a journalist and the name would have got out somehow, that's his job to report and sell newsprint. He's isn't employed by Acun as his publicist, likewise if Mike White knew anything he would on radio Humberside saying so, that is also his job.
I, we, you, don't know and can only assume what is going on. But I would have thought, as a journalist, Cooper would get the news out somehow, if he knew something? Perhaps I am totally off the mark and Acun has him in his pocket? I honestly don't believe they have anyone lined up yet. They may well have put an offer to someone and are waiting for a decision, then if that fails I assume they would then move to the number two choice ( which obviously for all and sundry then becomes and always has been the number one choice) The only hint we have had is the bit about the clubs financial position and we are a bit limited to what we can offer, so on that alone I cannot see us buying someone's contract out and offer compensation. I'm expecting to hear something by the end of next week. He's not his publicist but you reckon Acun would say "Yeah sure I'll tell you privileged information even though the last time I did you put it in print and jeopardised the deal before it was signed off"

If that was the case and potential player signing or a managerial appointment was dependent on the the news being kept under wraps until the deal was done then why would Acun even bother telling Cooper, or anyone in the media beforehand? What would be the point? With respect though, if you have a direct personal line to the owner of the football club you cover, you are not going to jeopardise that by publishing information he has told you in confidence. Not least it would be a pretty shabby thing to do as I have no doubt he has only been told in order to do exactly what he's doing - provide clarity and deny rumours that emerge from various places from various people. If Acun said "We are negotiating on a player and it is very close but if it gets out into the media then other clubs may sign him before us" do you really think Baz would report on it? Same with a manager.

Might the non announcement (if a decision has been made) be something to do with accounts year end...?
He would tell him so that, as I said, Baz can keep people as informed as he can without revealing names. He can clarify that certain people haven't been interviewed etc.
ie the Kieffer Moore and the infamous ‘division changing striker’ line

I can understand Acun using the local media to deflect attention thus feeding out duff information.
Tbf he wasn't wrong, Moore changed the game for the blunts yesterday ! Great pass to set up Sunderlands goal !!!!

The article Acun said it'll be a week is when he also said we wouldn't know him, so forget all the known names that's being mentioned so far.
Well if he's true to his word, it'll be in the next two days.Which week? This seems to be dragging on as much as Allam's 24 hours (or was it 48)
