Don't like Arsenal, but love this song... Louis Dunford - The Angel (North London Forever) [Live From O2 Kentish Town Forum 2023]
Went to a special gig last night. A duo called Kruder and Dorfmeister were recreating a mix album (K&D Sessions) they had made 27 years ago...with a live band. It's an album that clearly means so much to do many people. For me, it was an album I had a copy of, but bought it for my girlfriend (now wife) in our first year together. The atmosphere was absolutely legendary, the best I've ever experienced at a gig, and the band were incredible. It simply has to be one of the best mix albums of all time. If anyone can beg, steal, or borrow a ticket, they are playing in London tonight.
Went to see Manic Street Preachers on Friday night in Manchester and Ocean Colour Scene at Connexin Live last night. Both brilliant.
We saw Steeleye Span at Pocklington Arts Centre on Friday. They were so good. Well impressed and quite surprised actually. Proper Folk Rock.
I went to chase & status at Birmingham on Friday. It was carnage. Absolute carnage. And I must have lost about 3 stone.
Kyle Hall - masterful Detroit musician brought incredible energy and intensity to Manchester last night. I danced for five hours straight and now my calves are like rocks. #nevertooold One of the tunes of the night.
Cracking night at Polar Bear watching Spear of Destiny. Kirk Brandon’s distinctive voice is still very good IMHO.
Not a gig, but regardless I just went to a small exhibition of Alec Gill’s photography from Hessle Rd in the 70’s. Free and in the old Central Fire Station (back of New Theatre) from 5-6pm Worth a look if you’ve got connections https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/alec...m_experiment=test_share_listing&aff=ebdsshios
Just at hull truck now To have and to hold Vey good Written by a lad from hull with many references to hull and surrounds in it Driff doesn’t come out well Paula Wilcox and Steven Tomkinson in it Better than godbers wessie stuff
We went last week. I loved it. All very good but I thought Paula Wilcox’s comedy timing was literally faultless. Brilliant stuff.
Just got confirmation that Billy Joel concert next year cancelled. This had already been rescheduled. Think he is in a bad way. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cx2q95d4wy1o
