Yeah. When that second goal (VAR) went it, that was it really. Flipped big time after that. I thought we started really poor and slow. But we used that and it kicked us into gear. Great second half.

We started too gung- ho it was a good team selection but wrong tactics imo., the team looked all over the place ,and played right into their hands. In fact they turned the tables on us and played on the break , getting to half time at only one down was good fortune , not tactics. Napoleon Bonaparte famously said, "I'd rather have lucky manager than a good one," or something along those lines and it was never more appropriate in this years playoffs OaU .
PS. and to think our match winners were an overweight drunk and a 14 year old. <laugh>

Think Alex Neil in a podcast said fair play to Sunderland for having a model and just sticking to it no matter what even when it has goes a bit sour, few months ago mind.

What speakman has done om relative pennies is remarkable tbf. Everyone dreamed of having a team that never gives up full of our own and youngsters and here we are!! Nothing can take that feeling of yesterday away from us

Good point , as usual . thanks. I have not seen him play since he left Liverpool andd wonderered what you would think about it. I was keen to have him back at one time before greed entered the equation above heritage , its a huge factor in football unfortunately, supporters are the only ones left not affected by it, then again, up the road disproves that theory. <ok>

Well home now and I'm still absolutely buzzing shattered and drained but I don't care. It was brilliant to be able to share that amazing day with my son grandson son in law, friends and the amazing Sunderland supporters at Wembley. @Smug in Boots @RTB great to see you again and no doubt others off here at the Argyle. Unbelievable. Started slowly world class save from Patterson called the offside straight away as I had the perfect view just couldn't tell if he was interfering with play. After that the game changed. Missed oniens distribution from the back. Great subs by regis. Mayenda is a beast Roberts was brilliant when he came on so pleased for Watson what a way to leave us cheers Tommy. An emotional day never cried at a match before and a day that will live in my memory forever. Premier league here we come. Finally thanks to RTB for his threads all season. Looking forward to your 1st premier league one but enjoy the rest. Absolutely buzzing. TIL THE END. <party>

Amazing, both loaded just before we scored.<laugh>
I was watching on me phone and the internet was crap up here. Kept buffering. Also didn't want to miss the game.
The first pic fooked up so I posted another. Long story . But we scored.
I thought, fook this, am posting another of me lucky black cat (Sunny) with the eldest granson at the end.
    And in went the 2nd <cheers> :emoticon-0148-yes: :smiley-finger007:

Enjoy your well earned rest from the matchday threads mate.
Look forward to next season's <cheers>

What a day that was. Went through every emotion. My legs were going in the final few minutes and I don't think that's happened since the 98 Charlton game. The VAR decision was massive and Regis got his subs bang on and the stars aligned. Tremendous.

Don’t agree. We weren’t lucky to get through the playoffs, we were brave and resilient.

appreciate that this monumental achievement still lingers

but we play a midfield 2 and with enzo here now he HAS to play there and he needs jobe or a jobe clone alongside him,

where does this leave neil? id be hesitate to resign if it prevents investment elsewhere and progression.

also a bit aggrieved by his lack of willingness to sign despite being out of form, a local and our capt, its tommy watson stuff really and the latter got dogs abuse

If I could give this a few thousand dislikes I would. Smug has remained positive and optimistic throughout and good on him. Sometimes the negative sh1te just ruins the enjoyment for everyone else like the idiot next to me yesterday who was in my ear all game about how crap we are and seemed to be taking it as a personal insult every time someone made a bad pass. Then at the end he wanted to celebrate with me. Just support your team throughout!!

Not sure he’ll sign or not but I couldn’t believe how bad he was yesterday, had to be taken off and it certainly changed the game

The 5 year plan that took 4 years to complete.

3 wins at Wembley in a row.

First time we’ve won at Wembley in our away kit.
Home grown players in the spine of the team.

    A squad that cost 8m.

spent the entire season in the top 6.
