So this is possibly just click bait? I mean we have a right back who played all season barring injury/suspension so why prioritise a backup when our first choice left back is leaving and Schmidt could barely get on the pitch?
Everything is click bait to an extent. Links will be one of two things, we asked some preliminary questions or an agent drumming up interest. We either go into next season with one RB or we go into it with one RB and Byram as cover, or we look to upgrade Byram with someone refusing a new contract and we get him for free.
We all know one thing as true and that is the 49ers give no info out whatsoever. So all this speculation is just rubbish.
I hear we are chasing Ryan Kent He's in the USA and not liking soccer. said he wants to come home and play Football again. 49ers are currently in discussion with his agent and the player in person about why the fook they both have a obsession with Leeds United. Apparently a contract was laid on the table written of staying out of Leeds United business for the rest of his career. just what i heard so don't shoot the messenger.
Leeds are said to be targeting Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz as a summer signing to bolster their goalkeeping options. The Israeli international joined the Bundesliga champions in 2023 for a reported fee of £4.2m and is under contract until 2028. While he has largely served as a rotation player at Bayern, the 24-year-old has shown flashes of promise during his limited appearances — including a Champions League outing this season.
Wouldn't be surprised with Hamer. They wanted £15 million for him last summer I bet that figure has gone down especially as Sunderland have got Promoted.
Latest rumours. No idea if true. We've enquired about 18 year old Scottish "wonderkid" Lennon Miller from Motherwell. Central midfielder. Around £10 million is needed. We are expected to try for Mateus Fernandes from Southampton. Another central midfielder who can play further forward as a 10. Release clause is £30 million. Pretty much any club outside the top 6 is linked including West Ham, Spurs, Palace, Newcastle, Fulham and ourselves. This would be a major signing if the 49ers could pull it off. He's only 20 and was the shining light for Southampton last season.
We wanted Hamer lasss summer but we were a championship team. He’s good but no idea if he’s good enough for pl. I suspect he’s not
He looks overweight and unfit to me, for someone who should be a teams star player, he gets substituted more often than not. Not counting cup games, he featured in 44 Games, from what I can see, in 5 of those he was subbed between 80-90 so possibly Wilder tightening up the game but he was either a substitute coming on, or he was withdrawn another 17 times. He only played the full 90 in 21 games. We should be aiming higher - he was also used at LM for virtually the entire season, strangely enough AM against us when they lost 2-0 and he was replaced on the hour mark (tactical)
I disagree slightly. Its true he doesn't last 90 very often but I don't think that's a fitness issue. He has an exceptional workrate that's comparable to Aaronson. I've a feeling it's better. He also has more goal contributions than Aaronson. Last season in the Premier League he was second only to Son of Spurs in pressing stats (aski to confirm). He came off yesterday because he had never stopped running and pretty much ran the game. I like that about a player to be honest. Run your blood to water then pass the baton on to a fresh player off the bench. He had 11 goal/assists in 36 PL games in a struggling Sheff Utd. As you say, he tends to play on the inside left area more than centrally.
Solomon over Hamer for me, will be interesting to see if a mid table team comes in for him. No matter what we think of Wilder he’s not a fool, if he’s not playing Hamer centrally there has to be a reason and when he played there against us he was non existent I’m probably setting my expectations too high and possibly Hamer is the level of quality we can both afford and attract
Agree. My main point was about his fitness. Aaronson rarely plays 90 minutes due to his high workrate. I'd say that Hamer does the same. He works incredibly hard.
Also to his credit, if I remember rightly, he was coming back from injury against us. Didn’t look match fit and seemed a bit of a desperation substitution from wilder. I’d forgotten he’s had a years pl football to measure him by
18th October when we beat them 2-0 he was subbed off after 61 Return fixture I think he came on as a sub
