In what can only be described as a cluster **** of a selection by Tuchel. Walker - 35 next week will be 36 before the world cup starts getting a run out. Henderson, same age concerns and managed to captain Ajax to a complete capitulation and throw away a league title in there as well. Madueke with 10 goal involvements and Anthony Gordon with 11 picked over Murphy with 20 - ok age plays its part there but you can't have Henderson and Walker in there and that be the reason. Curtis Jones over Adam Wharton - what are you smoking pal? Three RB's? Toney scoring goals for fun in the Saudi League but the only GK I recognise in the league is Mendy? Just can't see him getting this right in time for the WC next year. Going to be another "what if" tournament. Edit just checked and Mendy is actually Toney's teammate so I have no idea about who he's scoring against but pretty sure I could bag 10 out there.
Two new names being linked in the last few days: Martin Baturina (CM / AM) and Sindre Walle Egeli (RW). For DPP - no, I haven't seen them play, hadn't even heard of Egeli previously . They are both meant to be very highly rated, high potential players though.
It's very easy, copy and paste into google, figured out their dob, where they were born etc On a more serious note Egeli looks like different gravy: Only a short highlight package and it's not the best league but nearly he's 19 and got 9 goals 5 assists, left footed but seems to play across the front 3 and have a wonderful touch and can head the ball. Only concern would be his pace at the top level but he's got game intelligence to play some nice passes/assists.
"Erm, who?" - words uttered by many about Kerkez, Munoz, Van Hecke, Semenyo, Mitoma, Van Der Ven, Zabarnyi, Huijsen, etc., etc.
That Barnes is crap, and we should’ve been buying first team players not subs. Tonali I said was an incredible purchase. I maintain all views were right. I even said, although hall and Tino were subs, that they had a lot of potential, particularly Hall. Thanks for the reminder as to how incredible my opinion is at times.
Apparently we've approached AC Milan regarding the signing of Malick Thiaw. Trying to get him in quickly, for approx £25m according to the report.
A back 3 of Botman, Guehi and Thiaw would be amazing. Hall and Livramento bombing up and down the wings. Bruno and Tonali bossing the middle Gordon and Mbuemo acting in the half spaces Isak being fed by all the above. Can use Murphy as one of the 10's for more defense, Barnes for more outside the box goal threat. Guehi and Thiaw have the pace to push out and support the midfield. Tino and Hall can also invert into midfield to cram the middles and force the opposition to cross into the box which Botman and Thiaw should deal with all day long....
Thiaw would be a good signing but I’m not sure about the back 3. I suppose it isn’t a defensive formation and does give you cover quite well for most 4-3–3 formations against us. Depends on who else we sign.
EH had played this formation very effectively. With better players it could be an absolute beast of a formation. @Maximin Effort nailed it with his post. And could be why we're Ajay looking at Mbeumo
Mbuemo isn't going to be a player Newcastle sign. I'm sure they like the player, but they aren't going to buy him simply because he's the latest fan obsession. I think he's too expensive that's all.
Yes I agree this is a good move by the club. He’s still a handy player even if we strengthen at the back because he’s good in two positions.
