Unlikely. As I understand it, the Council had no input into the arrivals despite trying to object, not just at the use of prime tourist sites, but at the additional strain on resources.
This is spot on. The Council were told it was happening and objected strongly, with support from lots of other organisations and individuals too, but it went ahead regardless. Private company delivering it so it’s not even just needing to appeal to Govt either Plus it’s nothing to do with him and his powers anyway
I had a cancelled train and went in Horners for a pint wearing a decent suit and carrying a briefcase. Everyone seemed to think I was someone’s lawyer and trying to find them! I enjoyed it too
I remember walking round Hull Royal Infirmary in a suit and tie. I kept getting stopped as a doctor or consultant , even some nurses panicked when I walked in - the feeling of power was awesome . Same used to happen at BP years ago as they never knew if you were important LOL
Once walking on Withersea sea front after a funeral in the old suit with two others. Group of kids shouted “Detectives” and legged it. Pissed ourselves laughing.
I saw that last-night,it was national news. Nice to see one of the guests involving himself in the window replacement programme
Agree about Sheffield. If you're ever in Kidderminster (I know, why would you be...) next door to the rail station is the old Severn Valley Kidderminster station (now a museum), it has a splendid bar, lots of real ale and proper pub food, as in pork pie, ham sandwich, etc.
Superb. Andrew Fenton seems to be involved in some interesting stuff and is always keen to make sure Hull gets noticed as a result.
