The correct answer to any question about Arsenal by any Tottenham player is 'I don't care what Arsenal have done' which is what Danso said today

Just catching up on the 25min trophy parade on iPlayer.
    The parade itself looked amazing!

the BBC coverage… not so much. - At least 5 minutes spent questioning/interviewing one of our fans from her home in Manchester, who used to be a Liverpool fan, and a son who defected to Arsenal. Like… what?! Just bizarre.

anyways, sundays game could be entertaining for all the wrong reasons. Our players look like they haven’t slept in 2 days… and then probably haven’t to be fair! <laugh>

The Spurs v Liverpool CL final has to be up there.

Liverpool have won a few trophies since then, and have continued to dominate. Where as for us, our journey has been turbulent to say the least.

Parade was nuts. I thought getting there for 14:30 was early considering it didn’t start til 17:30 but it was rammed by the time I arrived. We all stood by the bins in between Brown Eagle and the Nail Salon and it was absolute carnage. Once the bus passed we decided to leave as it was around 19:20 by then and my knees were ****ed but as we were walking through the back roads we ended up having a really good view of the stage from a bit back and so decided to see the trophy lift, my cousin’s phone camera is unreal and he caught the lift and fireworks superbly. I’ll be heading back to Devon today after a great couple of days, will look at posting some pics from the stadium screening and parade, plus I’ll get my cousin and mates to send a few from out in Bilbao and maybe chuck them in a separate thread so the pics don’t spam this one. Then I’ll look at getting a rather lovely awayday done :emoticon-0103-cool:.

Up the Spurs, boys and girls.

    Champions again, ole, oleeee!

I’ve said many times I do find Ange’s tactics and management very amateurish but his way with words is genuinely poetic and elite.

I noticed he almost went full Nigel Farage with the “I told you and they all laughed” but his line of “I’ll leave you with this, all the best television series, season three is always better than season two!” was such a cold line and mic drop moment.

I’d imagine with him saying such a thing it’s almost a guarantee he’s our manager next season and so the onus really is going to fall back on Levy and co. Because we’ve seen Ange can’t really develop players and so it’s a case of giving him the quality of player needed in order to fully execute his tactics (which is something we should’ve done with Mourinho). We need a £200m-£250m window on about 4 great players in my opinion, not 7 or 8 ok/ promising ones.

Come on, Daniel. The EUROPA LEAGUE CHAMPIONS now need their backing :)

I think you're right. No way would he have said that if he hadn't been given assurances of employment next season. He has also clearly stated the need to introduce experienced players into the squad.
I'm still not convinced that keeping him is the right decision, but if he stays then he has my support (for now <laugh>)
Either way, there's no wriggle room left for Danny Boy now... Put up or get out! :emoticon-0148-yes:

100% agree and his speech was brilliant in my eyes. What a "middle finger" moment that was... :emoticon-0165-muscl

Do you know what though, it has been such a blast these past few days and although my head has been screaming "he surely has to go", but now I just think sod it and let’s see what happens.<laugh>

Of course, absolutely no pressure on the short bald one now....

I’m not convinced by him as a manager but I think he’s a top, top bloke and his way with words understandably gets players and people on side. He knows how to deliver a speech and tap into a player’s head and heart.

Ultimately though he’s done what many managers have failed in the last 17 years and that’s deliver a trophy - and a ****ing big one at that. He’s earned his place in our history and I’ll forever be grateful for that.

This current squad and management with Champions League, Premier League and domestic cups to compete in worries me massively. Adding 4-5 decent experienced players could change things but getting in the right players won’t be easy or cheap.

Ange can’t compete on multiple fronts and the squad just gets ravaged by injuries.

I can see why Levy has kept him on as he’s won a trophy, qualified for the Champions League but the league form hasn’t been right under him other the first 10 games. Personally think he should go but looks like he’s kept the job for now.

I was still tutting Johnson for his language, but I guess Sonny gets a free pass.

The inescapable problem is that we can't spend anywhere close to that due to the stadium loan covenants (unless we sell a bunch of players for a huge profit), and I just can't see Levy raising our wage ceiling by circa 25-30% to accommodate the calibre of player Ange needs for his system.

It's clear this is why we've started prioritising signing young promising talent in recent years. The penny has finally dropped that we don't have enough pennies to sign established quality and so end up with Richarlison whenever we try to be flash.
