It's certainly his ambition to go to Celtic towards the end of his career, not sure what season/seasons he's thinking about though.

Not that surprising...Years ago, before the import of foreign stars to the English game, the only local geezer I went to school with who kind of made it to any grade was Harry Cardwell, father of current FGR player, Harry...There was a kid called Paul Reid who was an excellent player at 16 yoa. School teacher, Mr Cook, said he'd make it pro with some dedication, but never heard of again!!! I think the likes of Pat Heard and a couple of Hull kids who made the grade were in the early 80s. My old work colleague Steve Rouse played for the likes of Scarborough, but never fulfilled the promise shown...Told me a few stories about the late Colin Appleton..Some classics.
Not quite, this is from the Beeb - We know for certain United will experience a £10m reduction in payments from their £900m, 10-year sponsorship deal with Adidas because they have missed out on the Champions League. As that penalty is spread over the length of the contract, which runs to 2035, the damage on an annual basis is not onerous. It looks like the salary is correct.
In the late 60's when I was still a schoolboy at Endike we often played Maybury school and they had a lad called Kevin Lewis. He was a giant of a lad for his age, and a very good footballer and cricketer, although I once hit him for a six ( never saw the ball, closed my eyes and had a swipe) He went onto sign and play for Manchester United and then Stoke. I was always surprised his name never cropped up more in the local media around here because he was one local lad who made the grade. Always wondered what happened to him? Also remember watching Gerry Ingram play for Victoria on a Sunday morning on Princes Elizabeth playing fields, OPE, at the same time. He signed for Blackpool then PNE and scored a shed load of goals for them. Before my time, late 50's was another ex-Endike lad who made the grade was Trevor Porteous, he played and I believed later managed Stockport County.
I recall Lewis playing for the Hull Schools XI...Also Mick/Mike Barry who lived on Langtoft Grove, between Inglemire and Endike...He also played for Hull Boys then signed for Huddersfield Town, also played for Carlisle Utd and Bristol Rovers. Ended up in America..Not sure if he's still there. I think Gerry Ingram played for Hull Brunswick at their ground on Holderness Road. Now housing on the field by the Tesco Express.
