Don't speak pish, of course you need permission. Think you are getting mixed up the myth that there are no trespassing laws in Scotland, which there are. Fanny.

 

In England too a lot of people seem to assume that public places, like paths and playing fields, you can start digging holes. Every inch of the UK right down to the low tide mark on the beach belongs to someone.
