In case you were trying to imply the reduction in net migration is due to more good ol’ boy whiteys leaving…… it mainly isn’t. net number went from 860k to 431k, a reduction of 429k. The immigration number went down by 378k, the emigration went up by 51k. what is remarkable is only 50k more wanted to leave, as clearly judging from the comments on this thread, the UK has become a total **** show.

I think that’s true. Everyone thought it odd when Starmer made that speech about immigration (a nation of strangers etc etc) but I can see what the cunning sod was up to. I.e. associating himself with being tough on immigration when he knew good numbers would be coming out soon. by the way I think it’s also harder now to get in if you are a plumber, electrician, roofer etc. and that will also push the numbers down.
