Even though i don't think ange uses sonny right when he came on last night the man looked like he was running in treacle. Half of his superpower was how great he was at carrying the ball with his devastating speed. Maybe a super sub blasting it in from range but not as a starter

I think CK might be right you know

I've been saying for over a year.

Love the man to bits but watching him now is like seeing the supermodel you had a crush on as a teenager now a washed up mess held together by botox and hair dye.

    He's done at this level.

Yep, I agree. Palhinha, Eze, Guéhi(If Romero is off), cheeky bids for Cunha and Mainoo, just because we know Man U need the money....

If Levy has any sense, he'd at least make it look like he's serious about building on the cup win, NOW!!

This window is the ultimate opportunity to silence all doubters.

I would tend to agree, age catches up with us all eventually!

What a servant though and if he's happy as an impact sub then he can stay till he wants to stop as far as I'm concerned. Utter legend for me..

I still very much believe Son has a year or two at least in him. I just feel like many others he’s been utilised incorrectly this season. For instance difference this season of Porro as RB instead of Inverted RB is like night and day, one is arguably the second best RB in the league, the other is a donkey. Similar for Bentancur, albeit he’s been brilliant in the 6 in the KOs of Europa, it’s just not his best position, play him like Conte did in as an 8 and more box to box and he’s superb. If we can get Son playing back as an inside forward instead of a touchline winger, I have every faith he’ll still be hugely impactful.

Going into the summer I agree with what Locky has said, I think we (Levy) need to show some bollocks and give Ange/ new manager 2-3 (at least) well known established stars, especially as we’re in Champions League next season.

Arsenal moving for Zubimendi, Liverpool moving for Frimpong and Utd moving for Cunha is the examples we need to be following. I’d wanna see in the next week or two a “here we go” from Romano for a player of intent for us.

I've seen it mentioned that Alfie Devine says he does not want another loan next season

This is key. But more than that...
The club needs to either back or sack Ange by Monday morning latest...and if backing, there needs to be a very public statement of intent.

They ****ed up in 18/19 and tbh I didn't see that opportunity arisng again in my lifetime. But the club has been gifted another chance. Failure to take it this time is unconscionable.

There were rumours floating around last night (I think from Romano too) that winning the Europa may change Romero’s choice of leaving.

    Huge if true.

However if he does leave, then he goes with my sincere thanks for delivering a monster of a performance and helping us win our first trophy in yonks. Though I hope Atleti realise that after that performance, the £60m quoted valuation will likely now be £75m at the least. Cannot be letting a guy of that calibre and after that performance leave for what is becoming quite a common fee nowadays in this market.

Totally agree. MOTM for me and when he's on it, he's phenomenal. £60m would be laughable regardless of his sometimes iffy temperament..

    Do they have any money?
I'm very sick of La Liga clubs tapping up players and then pleading poverty.
Maybe they'd be happier with Harry Maguire?

Even £75m seems cheap for a young(ish) WC winning CB?
But tbh, I'd take the £60m if offered. We have some strength in depth there now, particularly with the way Danso is developing.

Given Pep bleating over Kane, seems to be more a
product of Spanish DNA than their national league.

"Maybe they'd be happier with Harry Maguire?"

Trippier did ok with Atletico, so yeah, why not ??

I think Danso could be a really good 3rd choice CB and is the type of depth we need but he’s only 10 months younger than Romero and right now there’s a considerable difference between the pair quality-wise in my opinion. I think on his day, Romero is a top 3 CB in world football, not sure I ever see Danso reaching that standard.

Unless Romero put in a request or had a gentlemen’s agreement to leave, I’d probably reject anything below £75m-£80m. In fact if I were in Levy’s shoes, I’d maybe even demand a world record fee for him.

Danso has two advantages over Romero, other than not being a lunatic.
He's comfortable playing left centre-back and he's homegrown.
Romero's better across the board as a defender, though.

Danso's been pretty decent since he's signed, but it's hard to judge him well at the moment.
He's been thrown into some very depleted sides and I think he's played decently in them.
Wolves are probably still pissed, but the player must be ecstatic right now that he switched.

Agree, but Danso earned his medal in the last 10 minutes. Wonderful cameo.
