This is promising. He’s not wrong. We need fullbacks but don’t need centre backs. Midfield we need to replace anyone who goes. Striker is the big priority - maybe one extra winger to give us 4 when Belloumi and Millar return. Get all that right and Immediately that looks a competitive team.
It's the right idea but I still hate, three years into his reign, that Acun is talking so personally about transfer business. Leave it up to your DoF or head of recruitment to talk about what needs adjusting in the squad. He still seems far too personally involved and seemingly making the calls.
Let's face it Sid he's always going to be personally involved, the club's his baby, he likes football, we're not a ManU where the owners are only interested in the share price. He's also a showman and likes the limelight. Best we can hope for is that transfer decisions are made sensibly, in private and Acun is the mouthpiece for the whole brains team.

I agree with this but would add that it's fine him listing the positions we need to sign players for, but the issue we really need to resolve now is the success rate of the signings, and he needs to understand that. When you look back, there is an incredible amount of quality which has come through the club in recent years without doing anything for us. Unless we have learned lessons about why that has happened and taken action to rectify it then I think this summer will just be more of the same.

I get your point, but if he was being asked about transfers in an interview and replied “nah mate I don’t deal with that, not a clue” it would be equally odd.
