Quite looking forward to it at this point although there are so many factors that could derail that ... So who should we definitely sell etc? Controversially, seeing as I've given the bloke loads of stick this season - I'd keep Jordan Ayew - his experience will be invaluable in mentoring the young lads coming through - plus he's actually better than Championsip level ... I's also keep Ricardo for his experience and mentoring and Skipp who I think will be great at Championship level ... If we could possibly keep El Khanouss it would be fantastic but likely untenable ... Sell Hermandsen (great keeper but very marketable re PSR - and I really rate Stolarcyk) release Ward - sell Faes, Coady, Vestergaard, Kristiansen, Soumare, Winks, Ndidi, de Cordova-Reid and Daka... So that leaves this as the base of the first team squad - with hopefully some additions Stolarcyk Luke Thomas Brandon Cover JJ Okoli Nelson Couliballly Pereira McAteer Skipp Alves Braybrooke El Khanouss Mavididi Fatawu Monga Evans Ayew That is some squad for the Championship...
Like your squad Fosse b would like Winks to stay around. A great operator at championship level and but for a squabble with RVN could have done more to help this season. Get a half decent striker and would be confident of top six at least, even with a points deduction.
Think Winks position is untenable - wouldn't stay overnight one day a week for training when we needed everyone fully committed... hence keeping Skipp ...
See we are in danger of losing another promising talent, 17 year old Lorenz Hutchinson, to 'academy poaching' ... funny how the PL / EFL are content to let this happen ... the cynic in me wonders if it's because those best placed to do it are the same clubs they want to fill the CL spots every season?
Some reports today saying Caleb Okoli has agreed to stay and be part of the 'rebuild' - personally really pleased - him and Ben Nelson could be a cracking young central defensive partnership for next season .... and with JJ , Thomas, Couliballly, Cover and Oluko as full-backs / wing backs that's pretty good strength in depth defensively ...
Abdul Fatawu out doing some light ball work at Seagrave and looking forward to the pre-season - a ray of light and hope in the gloom...
Must have been very tough for the lad. He really came on strong towards the end of the previous season and had just started to adjust to the pace of the Premier League when he got that ACL injury. With him on one wing and Mavididi on the other I think we had a real chance of surviving last season. Hope he gets back to his best by the time the season starts.
Yep agree. Fatawu and Mavadidi killing it out on the wings and placing them on a plate for.......um....er......
Evans and potentially Hutchinson ... and Ayew should be quite effective at Championship level ... but I would expect that we will bring a striker in, especially if we sell Daka ...
Reading this morning Leicester are going to have “aggravated” charges added to PSR and a transfer embargo is a strong liklihood, that’s going to sting
I read that the other day, it relates to the same charge but due to our appeal it's referred to as an aggravated breach. Which results in a more severe penalty than if you just accept the charge.
At last, signs of life from Seagrave, and it's all good news on the youngster front. So glad we have signed these young scholars to longer deals. Evans still to go and while he and Monga have rightly got a lot of the headlines it stands to reason that when you have players of their caliber it lifts the standard across the group. A nice tasty pre season game to wrap up preparations as well. Next two dates to look forward to are the 26th when we get the fixture list and then July 1st to see what happens with RVN
