It's dropped an estimated £6b, but he's still estimated to be worth £17b.

Not sure about that...I thought some of these mega rich mob had very short arms and very long pockets...Tight arses...Going back a while, I know, but Howard Hughes never bought a brand new car in his life...Always drove wrecks. John Paul Getty had a payhone in his house so he didn't have to pay for guests phone calls. Warren Buffett one on the richest blokes in the U.S worth an estimated $159 billion. Still lives in the very modest 2bed home he bought 60 years ago out in the sticks...

In a few years plastics will be saying they are good fans because they stuck with them through the bad times referring to this season.

I think their bad times will continue for a good while yet... discussed on TS this morning, how can next season get better for them, other than not having to play as many games. Exodus of players and not able to attract those who want to play in Europe.

20 year old players now have grown up without manure being a top team, and hopefully it gets worse for them

they wont have the allure they once had for younger players

What you don't realise Chazz from the image on the right, is that United are now so bad that once they get you to a game, they cable tie you to the nearest metal bar to stop you leaving <laugh>

Their current squad is a mere shadow of what it has been for decades.

They've probably got enough sway on their name to sign good players, but we have 6 English teams in the champions league who will have much more money to spend, so if you were Liam Delap, would you pick United over any of the current top 6 or Spurs?

If they want to challenge for Europe next season, they'll realistically need to upgrade most of their starting 11

That's a slight exaggeration, he has lived in the same house for a long time, but it's not all that modest...

He also owns a holiday home in Laguna Beach, California (currently for sale for $11m if anyone fancies it)...

Not sure about that, I went to a sales conference in Laguna Beach once, never saw Warren Buffett. Maybe you're confusing him with Warren Beatty.

I went to a sales conference and there was a nice buffet. I didn't see Warren Beatty, probably as it was in Leeds and not California.

Having been to the US on many occasions....That's modest..!!!!..It's not Oak Park in Chicago, and its not Glendale in Phoenix..A house that size would be a potting shed there.
