Fair play to Spurs. They get a lot of stick/banter so are probably due a bit of success. Catastrophic for United not to get any European money next season. Also heaps the pressure on Arteta too!
Is it **** harder to win based on what I said earlier alone, gimme Bodo and United any day vs Arsenal and Liverpool. Surely you aint arguing that Bodo and United are harder to beat than Arsenal and Liverpool? I will concede its a much better trophy though, carabao is mickey mouse, like the conference league It was harder to win when the CL dropouts were included maybe, but not now.
They are pretty much done as a big club now to be honest. No European football, almost relegated, lost to Spurs in a European final, no Europe money next season, tons of debt......they are ****ed for the foreseeable
As someone who grew up in the 90s and early 2000s I can't help but smirk and be a bit bitter. However, the fact an American has severely damaged an English institution doesn't sit right with me. I'm happy for them to be average for the foreseable but I wouldn't want them bankrupted. They are in trouble for sure.
Oh for sure, Man United are synonymous with English football, no way would I want them to go under. The Glazers should be whipped through the streets of Manchester
Got a big rebuild on for sure, needed to be done properly for years so they have to start now. This European money well **** that. I'm more concerned about the lack of trophy. Cold light of day, we just lost a final to a team that didn't have a shot on target. Their goal was basically an own goal, and they had two off target attempts. Spurs didn't even try to score and we still ****ing lost, that's how lacking a cutting edge we are. They'll need to to reassess who we can sign now of course, and not look to just sell the likes of Garnacho and Mainoo. There are a few players who started that game last night should not be anywhere near the club next season.
Are they in financial trouble post Glazers (now contractually committed to the new Old Trafford build etc) ?? "They are in trouble for sure." They and Spurs will never have a bigger alarm call on operating as a club than this season has given. How both respond to it remains to be seen.
If you believe Ratcliffe then he said they would have gone bust at Christmas had he not injected some cash. They are penny pinching, supposedly as they are that cast strapped - not to mention the huge debt they have. I'm sure if they were that desperate they could raise funds somehow as they have such a large following. The way they are operating though suggests they are in a spot of bother.
I think the really petty stuff is just him being him regardless of their finances. There’s always money to be made at United. Bet the players are buzzing for ASEAN all-stars away next Wednesday.
Nothing to do with the stadium, it's everything to do with the debt lumped on the club by the Glazers which has never been paid, or even attempted to be paid off, and has only got bigger due to the interest. The Glazers have ruined the club. Them alone, no one else. INEOS are trying to sort the mess but it shows how deep the problems are in how they are having to cut costs. The 'tea lady' bollocks is just a media driven cliché that people who know **** about anything just lap up, but they are cutting even the most basic overheads back and dumping all the freeloaders in order to try to manage the debt and generate funds for the playing element. They've done some ****ty stuff mind. There are no concessions even for genuine OAP's, and you gave to pay additional 'membership' money to be able to share tickets. So, someone who has already bought their season ticket can't just give it to someone else if they can't go, that person now has to pay for sharing membership. They already had their money ffs. This very week, I had to collect essentially a burner phone off a mate so I could use his tickets for Villa without having to pay. You can't download the actual ticket till 3 hours before kick off. I can't even be arsed to go now!
Ah. I was always under the impression that the Glazers were using the annual profits to easily service/reduce the debt burden, and the supporters anger was that some of that could/should be prioritised for on-pitch matters.
Morning lads, especially if your team won a European trophy this season! . Buzzing man. My cousin and a couple mates were in Bilbao the lucky ****s, I went to White Hart Lane to watch it. Joined the pitch invasion and copped myself some turf so when I get back to Devon later on that’s getting planted in the garden. Mental how such a **** season has turned into a blinding one. Really hope we don’t have to wait another 17 years for this feeling.
What happened to mainoo? I thought he was class last year for england and United. How he doesnt get into this United side i don't know
Not sure what gave you, or anyone, the idea the Glazers were doing anything to furmish the debt? They've taken huge yearly dividens for themselves and family, and borrowed more and sold shares to just leave the debt as it is. It stands currently at around £800 million. Which is considerably more than when they first lumped it on us. The idea that United would be in debt by other means is, frankly, ludicrous. They more or less print money otherwise. The match day revenue and sponsorship money generated are ****ing huge.
