For those of you that are struggling with a possible appointment of Cleverly, let me scare you with another possibility…..
Depends. I doubt that Cifuentes is facing criminal proceedings in which case you'd be right. Also depends on whether Nourry actually knows what gardening leave actually is. It requires the employer to actually give notice of termination in line with the contract of employment. Nobody has actually said whether Nourry has done that. If not, Cifuentes is fully entitled to bide his time and has no legal obligation to jump into another job immediately. Even when he does , that does not amount to an end to his contract. He just sets off what he has received both from the existing employer (QPR) and the new employer for the duration of the notice period. We could be in the not too sensible position of paying the salaries of two managers for some time yet. I doubt the owners will be too chuffed at that prospect.
Another name to add to the list... EFL Championship clubs on red alert as Will Still announces Lens exit to return to England please log in to view this image Lens Belgium coach William Still reacts at the end of the French L1 football match between AS Monaco and RC Lens at the Louis II Stadium (Stade Louis II) in the Principality of Monaco on September 1, Anglo-Belgian coach Will Still is set to leave Racing Club de Lens in the coming days. The 32-year-old has announced he would leave his position in the aftermath of Les Sang et Or’s 4-0 home win against AS Monaco. Still has cited “personal reasons” to explain his decision. Still’s companion – Sky Sports presenter Emma Saunders – is recovering from encephalitis, an infection of the brain. Still is expected to return to England, closer to his family. “I will not be the RC Lend head coach next season. I have made the decision following my wife’s health issues“, said Still According to Sacha Tavolieri, Still’s camp has already made contact with several EFL Championship sides that would be interested in acquiring the services of the Anglo-Belgian head coach. Still leaves Lens after only one season in the dugout at Stade Bollaert. Lens have finished the Ligue 1 season in eighth place. The former Reims head coach was under contract with Lens until 2027, but he has decided to leave exite Ligue 1 to be closer to home.
Just saw the headline in the Daily Mail .................... I'm starting to feel quite ill. QPR set to appoint former Norwich boss as their new manager after putting Marti Cifuentes on gardening leave following West Brom talks The manager left Norwich a month ago after overseeing six losses in 10 games https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ardening-leave-following-West-Brom-talks.html
Same win rate as Marti but less experienced. It seems like for like rather than a step up. Hopefully not a step back at least.
See below ............ I'd be happy if we just stay up. The squad is getting thinner, the quality of both player & coaching staff seems to be less & less each year, yet we ( club owners & staff ) ... expect a better result. One season, this will bite us on the .......................
I don’t think the owners expect much. Cifuentes himself said his target was more points than last season which is hardly ambitious. And he failed. The pressure comes from the fans with unrealistic expectations given the resources and talent available. My expectation for next season, no matter who the coach is and no matter which players we sell, buy or borrow, is relegation. We’ve flirted with it for too many seasons to get away with it again. Of course I will be delighted to be proved wrong.
I'm going to put money on relegation If my history of betting on qpr is anything to go by I can only advise you all to put money on a top six finish I am not a registered financial advisor
I’m not going to speculate until a manager is in place and we know what players we have for the new season. Regarding expectations I’ve learned as a QPR fan over the years to keep them nice and low anything more is a bonus.
I'm confident that we won't trouble the top 6 or get relegated This post will self destruct 2 weeks before the end of next season......
Same here. It's difficult to gauge when you don't know who's in charge or what players will be available.
Well, if we do get relegated, l want to do it with dignity and absolutely smash it. None of this will we or won't we, nail biting stuff for the last couple of months. Of course, l'd love to stay and chat but l'm headlining the 2025 Pathological Liars Convention and l must be off.
