It's clear that Rohl doesn't see us as 1st choice. We have to move on if thats the case, unfortunately we can't hang around waiting to see if the dominoes fall our way.
Sounds a bit like Rohl is stalling to see if the Bundesliga musical chairs (Leverkusen, Leipzig, Wolfsburg and whoever else might have a vacancy if their manager takes a new job) gives him a chance to work back home, close to family and in a top division If it's true that Johannes Spors wants this wrapped up by this time next week so that he can bring clarity to the situation in the first few days after the conclusion of the season, then perhaps we are getting restless and have now looked elsewhere
Interest from PL clubs? Well theres no PL clubs without a manager. Spurs and Man Utd might be looking for a new manager if they don't win the Europa, but can't see either considering Rohl. Then it's just if one of the managers of a lower half club leaves. Non seem likely to be fired. If Iraola, or Silva decide to move, maybe Bournemouth or Fulham would look at him. Still seems a bit of a leap. Feels like the prospects of returning to Germany and managing a bigger club in the Bundesliga has been his most likely next step for a while now tbh.
Leicester are technically still a PL club. Although I'm hoping this little run of results might persuade them to stick with RVN. But yeah, of the 20 clubs who'll be in the PL next season, the only potential vacancies this summer would appear to be Spurs and whichever team Spurs might recruit a replacement from. Maybe, at a push, Chelsea might act if they were to miss out on CL.
The only one I can see coming to anything is Fulham. Silva (and Mendes...) would jump at getting in the door at Spurs, which would free that job up. Rohl would be a bit of a left-field pick for them but maybe someone behind the scenes likes him and is keeping him warm
Agree with this. Spors knows how busy and crucial this summer is going to be with a big turnover of players upcoming. He’s been busy getting his back room/ support team in place and knows we can’t wait until mid-late June for someone to make up their mind if we are the last club standing, and this is why the Will Still rumours came out this weekend along with Cleverley. Not that the bookies odds mean much at the moment but Still is now the clear 8/13 fav with Cleverley now at 4/1 and Rohl drifted to 17/2 which really makes him an outsider now.
Funnily enough, I was just thinking the other day about how Harry Reed would actually be a pretty astute signing for us.
Couple of things I like there - him calling his midfielders "infiltration players" which gives an idea as to his intentions. Also he went full French accent when naming his players, but ****ed that off for naming the PSG team
I think it's about time to change the voting options. Straight shoot out between Rohl, Still and other
