Hamas have minimal influence in the West Bank which is full of illegal Israeli settlements ... nowt to do with Saudi either...
Which wouldn’t have happened if Hamas hadn’t have committed a terrorist attack just to try and keep Israel and Saudi apart. It’s almost like Hamas knew that the sort of response Israel carried out to the Palestinian population would stop the Saudis and the rest of the Arab population closing ties with Israel. It’s almost like Hamas wanted this response and a lot of Palestinian deaths to aid their cause…
This is incorrect. Pre Oct 7th Hamas had enormous influence there and had Abbas deemed it appropriate to call elections 19 or so years into his 4-year term, they would have either won or at least gained enough support to stop Fatah ruling.
Hamas was formed in the late 1980s as a splinter of the Muslim Brotherhood (who kicked them out for being too extreme), as a protest movement against the Oslo Accords. A campaign of Hamas suicide bombings derailed Oslo and swept away leaders like Rabin and Peres in Israel to be replaced by more hard-line politicians like Netanyahu. This is one of the reasons why the PLO hates them almost as much as it hates Israel, such that they fought a deadly civil war in Gaza that left hundreds dead. The PLO holds Hamas directly responsible (along with various Netanyahu govts) for the fact that the Palestinians still don't have a state - a pretty heavy accusation that tbh is well founded. Hamas doesn't believe in the two state solution. It believes in the words of the vogue chant you can hear in most university squares these days: 'from the river to the sea' the whole thing must be free.
Sure mate ... Hamas rule the West Bank and that's why the illegal settlements have been established ... just in case
I'm against illegal settlements and have said so on here since day one. But it remains a dangerous mistake to keep portraying Hamas as a protest movement reacting to isolated problems. They are and have always been genocidal, sworn to bring about the total destruction of Israel - legal or illegal - by any means necessary. Read their own Charters if you don't believe me. Israel could dismantle every single settlement tomorrow and Hamas would still want the deaths of every Israeli living from Metulla to Eilat. It is in this regard that the PLO (eventually) and Hamas differ most starkly, as I've just written to Saf above.
You need to up your game bro. Piskie is running away with that Greta trophy. Can't have some upstart Kafir from Cornwall winning it.
This would actually be very fitting for the Western *insert today’s cause but probably Palestine* movement.
One week to go but not welching like some infamous Not606 welchers is worth more than my long lost pride.
Netanyahu has just authorised the resumption of humanitarian aid into Gaza with immediate effect. It's being portrayed as strategic to coincide with the latest ground offensive, which is total face saving BS. The real reason is US pressure.
Just seen a video of the Palestinian protesters being booted about by the Dutch for protesting near a church. It’s a fun watch.
'The Cornwall Kafir' has a lovely ring to it. You know what you need to do. Abuse those admin powers.
