Still watch it every now and then. Absolutely brilliant, in a time when the F.A. Cup meant something. My jigsaw of the Cup coming home to Roker Park: 1000 pieces and possibly the hardest jigsaw I've ever done. Framed, and now proudly on display. Cheers for posting that Smug, brings a bloody lump to the throat.
It's appropriate, and deliberate, that I'm wearing my 'Bob Stokoe' '73 jacket whilst 'out & about' at garden centres today
Second division Sunderland didn't stand a chance against 'the mighty Leeds United', FA cup holders and flying high near the top of the first division.
I'm going to The Empire tonight (Christmas present) to see 'The Sunderland Story' and I'm sure that I'll be watching a bit of that game
Let us know what it’s like mate I’m there with my dad in a couple of weeks, really looking forward to it hopefully it’ll be extra special the week after a promotion
'The Sunderland Story' was very good, lads, and included goose pimples etc. . . . . there's even a character in it who must be someone off here . . . . deliberately (really) being a miserable bastard, with the rest of the cast taking the mickey out of him (Charlie) 'cos of it. It's definitely him Early in the second half a few owldies appeared on stage, too . . . . Dick Malone, Richie Pitt, Micky Horswill & Monty. At the end they all came back on, accompanied by Gary Bennett
This is a fotie that I took at the end of the show on Thursday . . . . the lass in the middle is Bob Stokoe's daughter
