What's been said about Zambrano i thought we did not have to activate it till June 16th, have they or he said he won't be coming?.
I think you’re maybe getting ahead of yourself a little, his loan deal is coming to an end but I think we have the option to sign him until June 1st (not sure on the date) We’ve announced puerta because he’d reach the trigger point in were we had to sign him. although I agree not signing zambrano now would be odd
They put out the retained list today. They have said his loan is over and he's going back. Where as Puerta has had his clause triggered and he's staying. Edit: I could be reading it wrong, though I thought the alert from the club I read this morning said he was going back.
Puerta’s loan obligation came in because of games played Zambrano was always an option by all accounts. That option will still be there until the window re-opens We still may not sign him but I wouldn’t have expected them to say he’s staying with the retained list either
as I understand it, terms are agreed up front when an option to buy is agreed, with the purchasing club triggering their option
Thats right. Another weird move if we dont buy him. The whole point of sticking by him all season and paying towards his wages was so we could buy him end of season.
The terms were agreed up front, but he’s not actually available to play, so I assume we’d try and get a reduction on the original fee.
And it seems that will lead to an extend stay at Hull, with Álvarez insisting they are already working on the deal and a change in the terms. “His status has not changed. Several people who saw a statement from Hull City have stated that he no longer belongs to that team, but that is not the case,” the director is quoted as saying in an interview on Cobertura radio. “What Hull City clearly expressed is that, for players whose contracts are due to end in June, the clause we have between clubs establishes that they have priority and will have to execute it this month, with the opportunity to do so even until the end of May. “The technical secretariat and the sporting director, Eduardo (Álvarez), expressed it yesterday: we are not going to count on Óscar, that’s the truth, we can’t. Basically, Hull City is going to renew him. There will be some things we can improve or that perhaps will be good for both of us, but he is getting closer to returning to the pitch and Hull City wants him.”
