Just received the following email from the club:

'Ahead of our final home game of the 2024/25 season against Arsenal on Sunday 25th May, the club wants to remind supporters of the importance of remaining in the stands at all times.

Entering the field of play without permission is a criminal offence and a breach of ground regulations. It is not a harmless act, it has serious consequences for individuals and the club, as we saw last season with the large fine we received in relation to supporter behaviour at the West Brom game.

The Premier League, The FA, and all clubs are united in taking a zero-tolerance approach to pitch incursions as they place players, staff, and fellow supporters at risk.

Supporters who do enter the pitch will face significant sanctions, including immediate ejection from St Mary's Stadium, multi-season bans for all home and away fixtures and criminal prosecution leading to a criminal record and potential stadium bans from all Premier League and EFL grounds.'

Hope that doesn't mean they intend on doing a lap of honour...

But also, **** you. I had zero inclination to invade the pitch until receiving that email. Now I want to just to just put two fingers up to the owners for what they've done to us this season. We've been a laughing stock and the worst ever PL team all season until now...when we are the second worst. They deserve a fine. (I won't actually invade the pitch, I'll be out of there asap) but this email has wound me up a bit. Get ****ed with the casual threats. I've been to all but a couple of home games all season despite the absolute **** show you've served up and now you're threatening me.

 

Yeah I'm sure we'll have a pitch invasion for reaching 12 points.

In reality I suspect this is something the club said they'd do after last season.

Can't imagine many people will hang around for the lap of appreciation.

Let's face it. We should be fined for the 11 that invade the pitch every week that masquerade as footballers.

Sutton's prediction: 2 - 0 Everton got taken apart in the first half by Fulham last time out, but were much better in the second half and went to win 3-1 at Craven Cottage. It would be typical for them to mess up on their big day, but they won't. I fancy Beto to get a goal, and the Toffees to sign off with a win.
Barry Can't Swim, aka DJ and producer Joshua Mannie, who is an Everton fan's prediction: 5 - 0 One big last send off at Goodison Park, Moyesey in the dugout, the noise will be amazing, the players will be up for it. I hope they give it the send off it deserves.

 

Due to Everton having something to play for, I think we'll lose, but we will score. With the worst team moniker off our back, we'll play with more freedom and look more like the team we expceted on our return to the Prem (i.e. in a relegation dogfight, but y'know, actually fighting)
