They won’t care about that now though, they survived and now look! That first season is all about staying up, doesn’t matter how you do it. Fair play to them I say.
I think we should flex the type of deal we've offered Le Fee if we go up. So, his deal being signs perm if we go up. If we do go up, sign quality players on loan, with clause they sign permanently if we stay up.
I'm not saying they mind, I'm saying I don't want my club to do that. We've been the club where "it's all about staying up" before and had loads of mercenaries at the club for a pay cheque. I like our approach and identity now. For me, that's non negotiable.
I don’t think we’d go down that route but I’m absolutely desperate for us to go up and stay up. Would be ridiculously tough mind, let’s hope we’re having that discussion next Sunday.
If we get promoted, is it more difficult with a team like ours than a bunch of journeyman to make big changes?
IF we go up, I think we wont need that many in, GK, LB,RB,CB,LW,RW and Striker, but again this is chat for after the final whistle
Good question. The team spirit and desire of our group is a major strength so whatever changes are needed would need to be well thought out, in terms of character / high ceiling ability.
It's going to be a tough one, and I don't think any fan knows exactly what is needed due to the significant gap. I think we just need some actual PL experience and some higher-calibre young talent at the least i'd reckon.
Let’s just see if we get there We’ve got a tough game ahead where we’re underdogs I really hope next Sunday we’re talking about PL targets.
Spot on! This thread is redundant. All conjecture on transfers has got to wait until next Saturday evening.
Wonder if we would try and keep him even if we don't go up. Absolute long shot and really ambitious but so was getting him on loan. Be a good statement for next seasons ambition if we were able to pull it off
His wages would make it a no go. Even if we could afford it, its not a great idea to have so much of your wage budget on a single player.
Pure quality close control and awareness that. For me it's his awareness that's the main thing that makes him a cut above and is why I'm desperate to have him in the middle in the final, dictating play and keeping the pressure off our defence. Wasted out wide.
It’s mad seeing Madrid sign players from Bournemouth, yet they could well sign someone from Sunderland this summer
