Apparently Fulham are releasing Tom Cairney. He always looked decent to me. Could be a good veteran pro in our midfield.
Tom Cairney is exactly the kind of player I think we will need for next year. He would being some much needed personality to our team that has been lacking leaders for a few years in the midfield.
Few outlets online (talksport, the mirror) reporting that Wrexham want Cairney and are prepared to give him a fat wedge of cash to make it happen.
Can't imagine Wrexham have more of a wedge than we do but fair play the allure of the cameras is definitely there. Think Cairney has a few more years of decent football in him though, he'd be Wrexhams best player by an absolute mile if he went there.
Not for very long, they’re going to spend. Might be too much to do it in one season, but they’ll be nearer the top than the bottom next season
Not sure about that. Avoiding relegation should be their target next season. They've risen up the leagues so quickly so their squad is a fair way from Championship standard.
Maybe a swap deal for one of their promising talents. Would be good to start seeing the multi-club model benefit Saints sooner rather than later.
Yeah, I'm not sure what the most efficient way to do it would be. If we received a fee then we'd need to pay tax (assuming we make a profit for that period), whereas I don't know what happens for swap deals.
