Commentators from Sky to CBS were saying they'd never heard anything like it.

Same goes for players like Defoe and even Bent ...

... Coventry fans are so bitter their faces may never untwist <laugh>

I think they were the ones that didn’t go to the match, didn’t watch it on TV, hid under their bed with a pillow over their heads, so aye they were probably right the atmosphere was crap<laugh><laugh><laugh>

A lass I know who lives in Hendon said she heard the roar when that ball went in. Surely that isnt possible. Even with a favourable wind thats seems unbelievable. The other side of the coin I have no reason to disbelieve her.

I can honestly say our house backed onto Hylton road playing field and if my dad was working and couldn’t take me I could hear the Roker roar from our back bedroom window if they scored a goal. I don’t know how far that is away from the ground but I would guess an easy 2 mile.<ok>

Honestly this thread haha. We could have literally on Monday started a thread and titled it post your craziest possible endings to the game and include player celebrations, nothings off limits and be as crackers as you can. It wouldn’t have looked too dissimilar to this.

Not wanting to be a black dog or owt but I’m on Shetland and I heard the roar when we scored or could that possibly have been from me after listening to skunks who had crawled from under there rocks when Coventry scored

Dan Neil got elbowed in the head about three times by the same bloke in the crowd when he was trying to escape the melee back on to the pitch!

Edit: Not just the roar from scoring, she was texting me what songs we were singing as well after!

I'm an exile these days but I grew up in Hendon, me and me mates used to kick a ball about near Hudson road school and in the Peter Reid days we would know the lads scored as we could hear the roar. I can only imagine (I watched it on telly so wasn't there to hear it in person) that it was louder on Tuesday so easily be heard in Hendon!
