Travelled with them for the Wycombe play off final. They were brilliant, SOL to Wembley with a couple of stops.
After careful deliberation prior to Coventry match I made the. decision to watch it in the hassle free comfort of my own 4 walls. Been there, seen it,done it. My Wenberley days are now over and I have thoroughly enjoyed every weekend down there following SAFC. Have a great weekend everyone. SAFC till I die and after HTFL
The only train you can get back now is 7pm from King’s Cross. No way you can catch that if it goes to extra time. Looked going from Leeds but obviously Sheffield fans are using those trains and even with a rail card it I’d over £160 return plus the ticket to Leeds.
if you are drivng and need somewhere to park- think me dad found it on a parking site search, wasnt that far plus they open the school for you to use the loos,
Ok sorted Newcastle to Doncaster, Doncaster to Kings Cross, and reverse, but only 14 mins between arriving in Doncaster and the train to Newcastle. Miss that last train and it is a night sleeping in the station!
From memory in 2022 there was nowhere around Wembley that you could get a drink. Is that correct? Seem to remember going into the stadium mega-early as a result Staying up in Elstree so might try and find a pub there for a few early eye-openers
We had a fanzone just up from Boxpark for Wycombe. Anything similar to that next weekend? Not that I’ll be there- Argyle Arms for me!!
No idea how the Sheffield fans are expected to get somewhere to even stand on the trains as they will be jumping on at Doncaster
If anyone needs a train option let me know. My mate has his own line manager at LNER and is currently arranging rail travel … … this was his email to me if it makes sense. Maureen / Mike / Richard I’ve just spoken to Mike and he’s asked me to send an email outlining the details best I can. I’m working on the basis of 250 return tickets (it may very well be more) from Newcastle/Durham to London Kings Cross outward journey Friday 23rd May returning 25th May. There will be some 1st class tickets required within the booking. Given the numbers we’d be requiring, travel would be spread over all day on both the Friday and Sunday. To help keep costs down and to ease congestion for yourselves we’d be more than happy to travel on the short service to York, change at York on to the stopping service from York. I also have some people who are stopping in Peterborough etc. It’ll be a mix of adults and children, heavily weighted towards adults. In all fairness I’d say very few will have railcards and given the numbers and the complexity it’s probably not even worth bothering about from my point of view. I’d say that we would be looking at spreading the group out from say the 09:43 departure from Newcastle on the Friday, for the rest of the day as people are at work, school, university etc. On the Sunday we’d be more than happy to travel at whatever times (within reason) to assist with passenger loadings etc. There will be a number of people wanting to travel on the Saturday morning (earliest possible departures). There’s a very small number who would be trying to return on the last service of the day on the Saturday, but I don’t think that’ll be possible so I’d be trying to steer people away from that. As always thank you for all your help and hopefully we can get this all sorted. Any queries at all please give me a call.
think BP goes to who has the West end side, as thats on their apporach, Charlton had it for our L1 PO Final, as they had that side,
Hotel booked in Peterborough for the Saturday night and train in and out for the match. Aiming to get to Peterborough for just after 10 and hopefully in London before midday. Had to book Thames Link as LNER trains are all sold out, no idea why...
