Meanwhile all the headlines from that game have been about a fat rich Greek gentleman shouting at Nuno.
Forest are claiming that's why the fat bloke was so upset. There was a miscommunication between the coaching staff and medical staff. Awoniyi should've been taken off but he played on for another 12 minutes or so.
Dan Ballard scores an injury-time, extra-time goal to win the play-off semi for Sunderland. Painful one for Fat Frank. He'll be eating a whole KFC bucket tonight.
Totally avoidable too, he was way offside and if the flag had been raised at that point play would have stopped well before the collision.
Well that explains their kvetching about rescheduling the fixture... please log in to view this image
Bologna beat Milan 1-0 in the Coppa Italia final to win their first silverware since 1974 No pressure, Spurs...
People are wrong I think. If he put his flag up and was incorrect and someone was injured in the next phase of play then that would be equally down to the mistake by this logic because the next phase wouldn't have happened without the mistake. There must have been dozens of players injured by refereeing mistakes by that logic. The current situation where the attacker gets the benefit of the doubt until VAR can take a look is surely the best choice. Surely the chance of a player being injured on any particular minute is more or less constant and entirely independent of what decisions are made.
It's the cases where it's obviously offside but the assistant ref keeps the flag down until the offside player touches the ball. Awoniyi was one of these cases
I don't think so. It was Elanga who was about a yard offside in the build up. There are loads of examples of assistant refs being more than a yard out in judging offside so it seems wholly reasonable to me that they are instructed not to flag unless it is clearer than this.
This is the 1st time I've watched an FA cup final in years, loving it so far and as I'm watching it in a boozer I can't hear the Palace twat with the drum
