Honestly I don't want them in the Prem now, much as I'd like us to beat them again, every other team will be them too. They'll be a guaranteed bottom place.
Some on here have insane takes lol. Weren't they bottom half and appalling before he took over? They've been flying, have no business being in a play off semi-final.
Haven't been paying attention really, just glad Lampard didn't get through. Although his results at Coventry hardly seem that amazing:
They were 17th 2pts above the relegation places when he took the job. Finished 9th last season, 5th this one
Jjust think about them all travelling down to Wembley just to get their arses handed to them vs Sheffield U
Sheffield United were abysmal last season and have largely the same players. They will still be too good for the mackems. Should the mackems fluke promotion then the likes of Ballard, O'Nien, Hume, Neil, Bellingham will come up against world class players - not like for like Championship plodders. It's going to be embarrassing for them when they realise by end of September how out of depth they will be. Sunderland potentially will be the worst side ever promoted.
It seems like a planned thing them giving up on the league games before the play offs. Not really working if so cos they looked bad.
Coventry were the better side over the two games. If they'd had a decent striker it would have been embarrassing for the mackems. The fact that they finish 4th says a lot about the quality of the Championship. Worst ever.
Watched a bit of it last night, and yeah they were appalling. I guess they know if they go up they'd be slaughtered, and then have to try to rebuild like Sheff Utd did this season after a heavy relegation. That's the best case for them, but Sheffield Utd will have to have a real off day for them to go through in the first place.
The best bit is that they will be hampered by PSR - that is PSR from Championship to PL. Essentially, they are going to have to play next season with the same set of players with maybe one or two signings.
