Coventry had 5 shots on target over 210 minutes (plus stoppage time) of football. Sunderland had 7.

Maybe as football fans in this new era of supreme tactical play we need to reclassify what it means to be "dominant".

We've won the last 2 times we were there, that's kinda all that matters. The only player that will even remember the last loss is O'Nien.

Of course, this is the year where I gave up my season ticket, so won't be getting a ticket for Wembley.

Last night was without doubt the best atmosphere at the SOL. Roker End was bouncing, and to experience that with my son who kept his season ticket was special

Just need that Wembley ticket now...... Oh well..............

Which younger players look demoralised, I cant see any , I thingk you are making things up to suit an agenda, but there you are its a forum all about opall about opinions, telling people who have supported Sunderland for longer than you probably to get a life or get of the forum says it all , grow up.

He can cry about it all he likes, but the fact is this and he cant change it is that we are going to Wembley and created one of the all time EFL moments that is being talked about from fans across the country and talked about on shows across the world. Fans of other clubs describing it as limbs of the season and best home scenes they have ever seen. And unlike his 'beloved' club, that he pretends to support to get compliments from blokes hes never met, we didnt achieve those scenes with players that were paid for by a regime that murders innocents.

Apologies as I dont want to derail the thread talking about that bloke, but had to say it :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Its really weird, I had no nerves when we played Coventry at their place, for 2 days leading up to last night, I was bricking it....
I now have the same air of confidence as I did in the first game as I do for Sheff Utd match.
The way Sheffield play, I think suits our players...really not sure why. I actually believe we can deal with the Blades... they are not as good as some and nearly every pundit thinks

Lost 1-0 at their place with a late winner, we beat them 2-1 at the SoL. Nothing between us imo.

Just what I was thinking last night! Only one team had legs in the second half of extra time. One way or another, our suspended stay in fourth place helped us there.

As of course did having Charlie Hurley coming up for a corner at midnight!

Talking of younger players, and just skipping through this thread not seen anyone mention Rigg,s last two introductions late in the game, he is back to his very best early season form, some of his touch passing is sublime and all that is missing is that killer goal, one more game to go young man as old big head would say.
PS great to see another home grown product get honoured last night, not bad for a lad from Faber Road, their Maureen would be real proud. well done JIMMY.

It's the morning after the night before. Haven't heard an atmosphere like that at the SOL in quite a long time - absolutely bouncing last night.

Was absolutely physically and mentally drained after watching that and my body aches this morning, my head is banging and my voice is croaky as hell but it was all worth it just to witness that last night.

Honestly lads, just keep smiling, laughing, feel like bursting into tears.

I only got 3.5 hrs sleep last night so unlikely I dreamt it but did we really just score a winner at the SOL in minute 121:59 after a week of the club promoting "'til the end"

Honestly cant believe that actually happened man. Still doesnt feel real.
