Run by private firms with IDF security: Fletcher said the Israeli-designed distribution model was not the answer. This was in part because Israel said it would limit aid distribution to south Gaza during its planned offensive and people would have to relocate to access aid there. "It forces further displacement. It exposes thousands of people to harm," Fletcher told the council. "It restricts aid to only one part of Gaza while leaving other dire needs unmet. It makes aid conditional on political and military aims. It makes starvation a bargaining chip." "We cannot support any model that places political or military objectives above the needs of civilians. Or that undermines the U.N. and other partners' ability to operate independently," Britain, France, Slovenia, Greece and Denmark said in a joint statement before the council meeting.
Given the 18 months of imminent starvation and worst genocide ever I’m probably taking it. I doubt any country has ever or will ever have such high standards placed upon it to care for people who have chosen to both attack them and keep hostages for 19 months and counting. They can get in the sea but I’d settle for Egypt.
Israel just need to open the gates bro and let the UN distribute the tons of aid already waiting to be distributed
It's absolutely weaponising starvation There's an international humanitarian law on making sure aid gets to people affected by war, but Israel want to control this so that they can displace people from the north again in a pretext to permanent annexation. Sick ****ers.
... only most of the people suffering didn't choose to attack Israel ... in marked contrast and against numerous generally accepted UN conventions and articles of war, Israel has chosen to attack civilians using flimsy excuses to attempt to circumvent those conventions and practices, whilst doing its utmost to prevent the wider world from getting to see exactly what is happening ... Can only hope that those directly responsible for the unnecessary carnage and suffering being caused to Gazan civilians are made accountable by the UN/ wider world at some point ...
Enough supposed civilians decided on the spur of the moment they fancied a day of kidnapping, murdering and pillaging when they had the chance. I’m not going to have another Fosse tears session where you ignore Hamas’ use of civilians and civilian infrastructure.
I didn’t say 40000+. “Civilians” abducted the Bibas children. Civilians re-captured a hostage who escaped and returned him to Hamas. You can cry for them enough for both of us now.
Don't cry about much ... you can feel revulsion for what some humans are capable of without tears ... and without that revulsion being dependent on your particular race, creed, culture, religion or nationality ... Some can't, obviously ... 'victim' starts at home, through blinkers, narrow mindedness ... and noticeable arrogance...
Good for you. When there’s a terror group intent on wiping out smug old wet lettuces and they along with supposed civilians kill 1200 with the goal of taking you all out you may feel differently.
Nope ... my sympathy for any lettuces, smug or not, would be on a par with that for the parsnips, should those lettuces seek to exterminate / ethically cleanse civilian parsnips from their own allotment ... and I'd push for a two can or even mixed veg solution ... because I'm not an entrenched (other planting borders are available) self-centred bigoted little **** who thinks 'my people' are any more deserving of water and sunlight than other veg....
This is a very easy stance to pretend to have when it’s not you. If you had a choice of saving someone you cared about or a complete stranger you aren’t thinking twice about it. The two state solution has worked famously in India/Pakistan. All problems solved in Kumbayaland with the two state solution.
